After the introduction of Kali to Tranquility server and enough time for people to start pumping out the new ships, how much of a price change would you (manufacturers, traders, speculators, etc.) expect to see on AC/HAC ships?
One more thing, would Kali raise the insurance payouts on t2 AC/HACs? I didn't see this mentioned anywhere. |

The debate is on as to whether or not the new tier 2 battlecrusiers herald the coming of the HAC killer. Rigs and boosters will add to the already large number of permutations a ship setup could take.
When will the HAC prices start to vary? Assuming there will be a group of players that will research their new tier BC BPO's and the research times on the BC BPOs are the same as those for the tier 1 BC (this is not an unfair assumption given that these times are the same for tier 1 and tier 2 battleships), i reckon tier BC from researched BPO's will start to come onto the market on mass 1.5 - 2 months after release. From there the price may or may not come down slowly though thats conjecture.
Thinking about rigs and invention, it would be interesting to see if much isk could be made from the trading of t2 rig materials from salvaging and from t2 ship invention...

Insurance payout will stay the same. It can't be raised due to exploit situations that it would open up.
Prices for AC/HAC might drop a little but not much. Depends on how hard it will be to research a ship with invention and how many players will get into it.

I think the real issue is that HACs simply offer so much more mobility than Battlecruiser do, that they will continue to be high value ships, until the point a which they are no longer combat capable.
It's the old "fustest with the mostest". Back in the ear when that quote started, the cavaly is was talking about cost 3-4 times the amount that an infantry unit of compairable size did, and would ussual lose in a straight up fight against a comparable cost and logistics of foot infantry. The difference was, cavalry had so much more mobility than said infantry, it was able to get to the most advantagious position long before the infantry unit could bring it to action.
Same drill with the HAC vrs BC fights. A comaprably skilled BC may be able to stand up to a HAC in a straight up fight, but since the HAC can cover twice the strategic distance, in a given timeframe, as a BC can, HACs can ussually chose to evade action against them. The ships that can keep up with them, t1&2 frigates and cruisers, can't stand up the them without significanty numeric or skill superiority.
My personal opinion is if you really want to de-throne HACs, then change BC agility from 1.1x to something more on the order of 0.75x or .8x. That should give them the strategic speed to put a damper on HAC raiders, while still leaving them noticably slower.
