Hey guys,
I need some help. I downloaded TriExporter 2012, and then watched the YouTube tutorials. The problem is, the tutorials say that when you unzip the file, it will ask you to "set folder". The file that I downloaded does not unzip, but opens right up to TriExporter, and does not ask to "set file".
I tried selecting the "file / set folder", and tried okaying my EVE folders. There are 2 places EVE installed, in Program Files (x86) and Program Data... nothing happens...
... TriExporter continues to mock me.
Thank in advance for any help y'all can provide. |

Unfortunately, TriExporter doesn't work anymore since the file structure it was designed for was replaced with the new Download on Demand cache system. Until a new tool is written or TriExporter is updated, the assets are out of our reach. |

I took a look at this today and I've now got a version of this working with the shared cache.
I just need to try to speed up the index parsing a bit since it currently takes about a minute to load and process the index, but either way I'll push it to Github tomorrow and post a test build. |

The Unstuff option seems to be gone- is there a way to get the .dds files out otherwise?
And anyhow- thanks so much for fixing this :)

And anyhow- thanks so much for fixing this :) I just removed all of the stuff-related code, leaving it there wouldn't have done anything since the stuff files don't exist anymore and I didn't realize there was a need to extract individual files. I'll add something back for this in the next few days.
Goahl Nach wrote:So how do I find the Shared file? In TriExporter just go to File -> Set folder and select your EVE folder. It will read the index from there and will get the SharedCache path from the registry. |

So, I've found this version to work to the point where I can view the res folder and navigate to the ships I want to export, but the problem still being when I double click any of the .gr2 files TriExporter crashes, and I've not found any current solutions to the issue. Has anyone had this issue recently or have a solution for this issue?
Thank you so much for the updated files!

If the older Triexporter worked for you try using the granny2.dll you had with that. I just included the latest version I could find, but from the older threads it seemed like different people have problems with different versions for some reason. |

Awesome thanks for the updated files! I can open and view the models, but I'm still running into some issues when it comes to actually working with the files (I'm using the E-UNI: Rendering EVE Models class YouTube tutorial). It looks like there were some changes to how the image textures were assembled, so if anyone happens to know where I can find an updated guide it'd be greatly appreciated.

Well, there's an old devblog about how they pack their textures: Here. This devblog explains how the textures were packed previous to V3 and the system they moved into with V3 complete with a nice little graphic.
Then there is The Future Of Spaceship Rendering video from fanfest this year that explains the new system they are moving to. I don't know if they've started migrating to the new system or not but they show a slide that indicates how the textures will be packed and say that it will be available online sometime in the future. |

they basicly switched from the old color maps (diffuse maps) to PBR, This means that alot has changed in the workflow of recreating the colors and all details. check out this link for more on the physically based Rendering stuff:

Nice to see triexporter working still.
Something I never could figure out was how you decide which .dds files to select and their order of application. Was just messing around with the nyx and just chose the first .dds 3 times and the png created after exporting is transparent in photoshop. |

Tried several (like 4 or 5) versions of granny2.dll with no luck so far. I can browse file tree and see files (including files from shared cache) but I can't actually do anything - every time I double-click any model that is not "blah-blah_lowdetail", TriExporter crashes.
If there is no known solution for this bug, could someone please extract some files for me with operational TriExporter? I only need the Raven BS |

Do not set it to the 'res' folder. I'm using win 10 and the directory is C:\programfiles x86\ccp\eve

Hiho ! This is EVE-OUTTAKES..... Perhaps you know some of my "funny" pictures or videos on youtube
The Triexporter is not working properly anymore. I can open and export Battlestations and other structures, but when opening (double clicking) on a ship mddel, it crashes....
I-¦ve tried with ALL possible granny2-dlls from the "oldest" to the actual version. I also tried WIN7 up to WIN10
usually there has allways been a grann2.dll file that worked perfectly....

It is. But I only recently downloaded everything, maybe there's something that needs to be refreshed?
I also read that the dll file may need to be copied to a Windows system folder in order for 64bit to work?

I also have my shared cache on a seperate HD to the launcher and main .exe folders, could this be an issue? I pointed triexporter to the CCP (with the bin folder) and all the folders for ship models show up in triexporter.
I had this working a few months ago, but I've obviously messed something up since then.

So I've tried just about everything I can think of;
I've used different TriExporter versions I've used different .dll files I've set the .dll files to unblock I've set user permissions I've booted in safe mode
and still the program closes when clicking ANY .gr2 file.
I read a few error threads using related error codes and some peoples games closing, or programs not loading. Some seem to lead to RAM issues, some seem to lead to other programs clashing, so seem to lead to 'failed calls (or some sh*t)
This is the Event Viewer log from lastest attemp;
Faulting application name: TriExporter.exe, version: 0.5.0.0, time stamp: 0x55346e6b Faulting module name: granny2.dll, version: 2.8.12.0, time stamp: 0x499b4077 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00031350 Faulting process id: 0x4b4 Faulting application start time: 0x01d11f7726e46799 Faulting application path: F:\Eve Online\Modelling\Tri\TriExporter.exe Faulting module path: F:\Eve Online\Modelling\Tri\granny2.dll Report Id: cb7a8f37-001b-40bd-9e8b-cc3ae971f5df Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID:
I'm wondering if there may be other 3D applications on my computer which may be causing issues.

So, I just reset Win10 to clean up everything.
Reinstalled eve client, linked up to res files (did a rescache.exe check, downloaded an extra 7.5GB)
Reinstalled triexporter
Now when I double click a gr2 file, it pops-up saying "TriExporter_sharedcache has stopped working"
I downloaded the lastest granny2.dll to make sure. Same thing.
I guess this is an improvement from the program just closing without notice?
