I sincerely hope that your administration will do more to address the widening disparities in living standards amongst the people of the Federation and curb the growing trend towards nationalism as evidenced by the close result of the voting.

On behalf of the Placid Coalition, I wish to officially congratulate President Foiritan to another term in office. As Ms. Kovac rightfully put it, this is truly a triumph of goodwill and reason over xenophobia, and I am sure the Federation will develop in a much more decent direction under your lead than it would have under Mr. Blaque. ______________ Join the Family |

I congratulate the Federation on having elected a sane leader.
I find it personally painful that some in the Federation actually believe that multiculturalism and diversity is anything but a strength.
Every culture has something of value to contribute.
We all have positive lessons to learn from each other, I am happy that the Federation will continue on this course for the forseeable future.

Congratulations & thank goodness that President Foritian, flawed though he is, has been returned to his position by the Federation's electorate.
I wonder however, if this will be the end of the affair? a 1% margain of victory is, potentially close enough for Senator Blaque to contest it. Also, there will be those amoung Blaque's & others following & maybe those in the Senate themselves, who will attack this result as being manipulated by those Matari & Intaki voters in the boarder regions. Certainly the organised block voting, while I see it as a good example of unified thinking & organisation by some of the Matari & Intaki voters, could easily be turned by some as to show these voters were in the pockets & control of a behind the scenes organisation; determined to manipulate the final result.
& since Foritain, like it or not, must realise he owe's a serious debt to the non Gallente elements of the Federation, what will this mean for future Presidential policy? Will the Intaki take return to the issue of their seperation from the Federation? Will the Matari expect improvements in their working & living conditions? & what do those who were behind the scenes organising these normally apathetic voting groups wish to see happen? I expect all these questions will answer themselves over the course of the next 5 years.
So congratulations President Foritain on your reelection. But this is by no mean the end of the affair. & i fear that what was a politically charged & conflictive campaign may just be paving the way for something much worse. At least in the campaign's all there were was words. Now its the time for these words to become actions.

This is not what worries me now. I'm not a political expert, but having just a 1 point margin means it will be a lot harder for the President to pass a vote in the Senate, at least untill the next election. So we should expect to see 'some' sensible bills blocked by Blaque and his party. --------

Allthough i am not an official speaker of Ixion Defence Systems i am sure that my coproration is glad, that sense came to the planetside population, and chose (even with a small margin) the pursuit of Gallente ideals through peacefull means rather than the radical views of Mentas Blaque.
However i expect from Mentas Blaque to help the president on his work and not hinder it. The outcome of the elections shows that is time for cooperation between us not strife.
Now is time to address the problems at hand and do some work. Time is not something that turns back, and is valuable.

Congratulations to Presidant Souro Foiritan on winning another term of office. I hope that he will see the way intergalactic politics are turning and increase the budget spending on Federation defences, whilst still remaining the open-minded and fair man that many respect. Whilst I feel Blaque would have been an antagonistic and xenophobic choice for a president, he did at least have the right idea about rearming the military. With such a close margin leading to a near split in power, Foiritan will need to use his well-known charm and cleverness in order to keep the senate from grinding to a divisive halt.
In light of the closeness of the election result, I would not be surprised to find the political climate within the Federation destabilising and perhaps even leading to internal violence, and urge Foiritan to be careful of those who would see him ousted by whatever means they feel to be necessary.

Congratulations to President Foiritain. Hopefully the small victory margin will lead him to realize that things need to change. The defense of the Federation must be addressed. The Navy needs more support to be brought up to on par with the other nation's navies.
I had hoped Blaque would win, as I know he would have staunchly supported the Navy and a strong national defense which is so sorely needed in these times of uncertainty. However, I have confidence now that President Foiritain will be forced to address these issues, due to the large number of voters who favored Blaque. So, once again congratulations to President Foiritain, may your administration lead to a stronger Federation.

On behalf of the Guardian Coalition I'd like to congratulate Monsieur Foiritan on his (admittedly narrow) victory over the racist xenophobe Blaque. I have no doubt that the madman would have pushed us into open war with the Caldari with no thought to the cost of life.
While I am not a particular supporter of Foiritan or his policies I do feel that this is not even a lesser-of-the-two-evils situation. Foiritan, I believe, will lay the foundation for a yet-more stable state of affairs, perhaps even paving the way for true peace and co-operation with the Caldari State, just as it was meant to be. I have no doubt he will also extend the hand of friendship further towards the beleagured Minmatar. Then, we can finally, together, stand firm against the blot on our universe that is the Amarr Empire.

Congratulations, Mr. President. Now is not a time to dwell on the suggestion that your re-election was achieved because the alternative was a future of fear. Now is rather a time instead to celebrate your success and to hope that your second term will be characterised by strong and sure leadership, because any weakness on your part will allow Mr Blaque to further undermine the peace between the empires.

Your birthright was membership in the federation, a birthright that you squandered and rejected. The federation is not merly a treaty signed between equally soverign countries that you can leave at will but a seperate country and empire that you give up some of your sovrenity to win you join and you do not have the right to leave. Oh god, more 'earth' fairytales.
Our membership in your Federation was Caldari Prime joined it, and when you found that there were colonies that pre-dated us joining the Federation, you wanted a cut of their lives, and offered nothing in return.
You wanted to assimilate us and make us accept your way of life, without you being able to accept that we were different, and letting us be equals. You attacked Caldari Prime over colonies you had no right to demand anything from, and your Federation made it quit clear that leaving the Federation, to you Gallente, is war. You attacked the general populace over the acts of a select group, and many of you seem to happily ignore the fact that our fighters showed far more restraint, and stood and fought your navy instead of bombing your cities to ashes when they broke through your blockade.
The Amarr atleast admit to being slavers, so why can't the Gallente?
Our birthright was as much to join the Federation as to leave it. However since the Gallente took far more than they gave, the Caldari leaving the Federation was something they didn't want, and war came because of it, and now, we are an example to all others of what you can acccomplish without the shackles of the Federation.

Unless you have access to some corrupted files (in which case i recommend to update them or delete them). Caldari nation was a founding member of the Federation.
And that means the WHOLE Caldari Nation as the rest of the founding members thought. Not only a part of it. So when suddenly it was made public that your State had decided that it could found colonies and keep them hidden for not taiming them with the rest of the Federation citizens, it was only logical for the administration to ask for the turn of these colonies under the Federation administration.
So instead of starting pointing fingers around and spitting useless and pointless threats, start by doing a check of what you did wrong and try to fixi it (because it's still there if you get my hint).
I am sick of people like you that try to prove themeselves and what they hold dear innocent, even though they know that there are skeletons in their closets too.

While the closeness of the vote indicates that there is a significant amount of division within the Federation, it is my hope that President Foiritan will acknowledge that and work to make the necessary reforms creating a more transparent and democratic government.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate President Foiritan on his reelection. May the next five years be prosperous to the Federation. The Gallentean Federation stands firm as a leader in democratic values, freedom, security, and peace for all peoples.

Originally by: Mithrantir Ob'lontra Unless you have access to some corrupted files (in which case i recommend to update them or delete them).
First, it was Caldari Prime which joined the Federation, not colonies that pre-dated the Federation. Had those colonies wanted to be a part of it, they'd have done so. While I undertsnad that freedom of choice is something most Gallente do not understand, the colonies exercised theirs in not being a part of the Federation, of which the Gallente people wasted no time in tasking control of for themselves, throwing 'equality' to the wind.
And as a founding member of the Federation, as you put it, the Gallente people had no authority to demand the Caldari people remain a part of it. Unless you show me documentation of the Federation stating that leaving is simply not an option, I suggest you be silent.
And as for the Federation trying to not repeat its past mistakes, I'm sure the Intaki in Placid aren't exactly thrilled when they see how 'equal' they are treated compared to the Gallente. Then you have the Minmatar immigrants, who live in poverty and conditions that are hardly better, if not worse, than what some slaves in the Empire live in.
You need to stop 'trying' and start doing. Rather than let people think the Federation will carry their dead weight, make them earn their living like the State citizens do.
Those of the State who accept a hard day's work, and can abide by rules and regulations, live quite a nice live. Nothing that can compare to a pod-pilot's ofcourse, but better than what I see Intaki and Minmatar suffer through in the Federation.
