Edited by: Mudkest on 29/10/2006 13:45:51 I like minmatar. YOu ahve those amars with state of the art lazorbeams(pewpew) caldari and galante with hi-tech railguns and futuristic plasmablasters
and then the minmatar, ex slave race with cruse projictile turrets. And not jsut projectiles, no nucleur stuff. depleted uranium, fusion projectiles, nuclear warheads in our missiles. artillery cannons that remind me of old time ship of the lines, cannons firing in volleys(BOOM BOOM BWAM KAPLODE!) and autocannons that go RATATATATATATATATATA like machine guns
oo look an amar battleship with shiney copper hull that looks so pretty it makes the captain proud of his ship. Then a few jaguars and vagabonds come out of warp and rush towards the nasty battleship, autocannons ablaze with their insane high ROF. peppering that shiney hull with thousands of depleted uranium shells and fusion ammo and other radioactive stuff and then warp off when theye ar past and before tha battleship can respond. Leaving behind a lot of holes and dents in that once so pretty, shiney hull and an amar battleship captain crying on teh shoulder of hist first officer.
got to like minmatar style :)

Well I've put roughly 30 mil SP into minmatar so far, got to put another 10 and I'll have all basic skills covered.
Apart from that, it's a joy to fly. It's the ratata of the ACs that does it for me. It's not the easy mode race, but you get versatility when you train hard.

There is no reward other than that you will have to learn to be the best to make the most of a Minmatar ship. Its for those who like to play the more challenging game.

Originally by: Godar Marak Minmatar has some really good ships, they will however be shafted in the upcoming patch it seams.
If you want to see how well a tempest can do you should download the 'lock n load' videos.
The only thing that gets shafted are stabs on the Vagabond. However, that's one nerf compared to the 3 boosts the Vaga is indirectly recieving (inertia stabs, hail speed penalty removed, extender hitpoint boost).
Minmatar AC ships are the absolute masters of fitting oversized plates and this will make them even tougher in the coming patch (plate hitpoints get boosted too).
Combined with the longer fight times meaning other races' turrets will cap out while projectiles keep on firing, the nerfing of ewar allows us to finally take on Gallente nosboats with less chance of getting permajammed (and don't forget, with no cap we can keep on firing) and various other changes mean it's going to be a very good patch for Minmatar indeed.
It's just a shame the Maelstrom is so ****e

Our racial advantage is 5m/s
By the time you've got the "high SP" people go on about to fly minnie ships properly, you could have "high SP" in another race and do things just as well and have been doing things well for a little while.
If I started again I'd probably not go minnie, having said that I kinda like being the one ship in a fleet that isn't another damn megathron . Minnie are the black sheep, and in some respects the hard mode... If that sounds interesting (and it is), go for it and join us ___________ ~Fredbob~

The racial advantage is barely perceptible most of the time. The only hull (Stabber/Vagabond) that really stands out for it has the bonus to make it stand out.
Min ships should have the 5% velocity bonus innately. Just like Amarr should have the -50% Laser Cap use innately.

There is no best race
Why is everyone talking about "u need more skill training" i wont even bother to train up torps and missle skills for the phoon, the tanking skills are like 10 days to be ok.
I like Mimatar and i like my tempet no matter what.

Yes they are worth it for no other reason than to snub teh noses of all those elitist others that complain just because their uber ships are being ballenced. Heck with nerfing we're just looking ot get up to the bar.
Then i think back and remember that i just blew up one of those Flavor of the month ships with my "Ducktaped together scrap heap" Really who are you insulting with that, your the one that just got blown up by it. Guess you forgot the ducktape part with your ship then huh?

If you train any faction it should be for the theme and because you enjoy the looks, not faction balance.
Faction balance changes, whats weak today will be powerful tommorrow.
Just specialize in what you enjoy.
So by looks then eh? Then Minmatar ships definitely suck! ----

If you are the type of person who would come to the forums to find a ship setup, if you think things can or should only be done one way, or if you like things handed to you on a silver platter, DONT go minmatar.

If you want to excel as a Minmatar, you have to be focused on a specific area.. the Minmatar is pretty much the Jack of all Trades in EVE Online, if you focus on all areas at the same time, you will end up as one, and that isn't really good, its better to focus on one area at a time.
