I am 2 weeks to a panther, teach me anything and everything about the best way to fit and fly it.
Also, what are youre preferred hunter/bait ships. My hunter character has Gal/Cal cruiser 5, cyno 5, and Cal frig 5. |

Well offier mods are a must, tho i know they can be hard to come by some times.... so A-types and X-types are exceptable....
Seriously tho it "depends" on what its for, raw dps or transport (portals) basically.... and if you want armour or shield.... how big a fleet your in...

Nullified T3s are quite awesome for cynoduty. Nullified Teng for example has some 80k ehp, aligns in 4 secs into warp, warps at 5.2 AU/s and has combat probes/both cynos and a cloak. |

I love dual heavy neut fits, but they are hard to fit if you still want a propmod, MJD, Cap booster, good DPS and a 1600plate.
Expensive pimped Shield fits are also super awsome, have seen fits like this on the Fright Club killboard to tank station guns while killing JFs. They look simmilar to the Sin Fits from MasL and Gulnar.
For hunting we use Prospects, fast, good warpspeed, able to fit combat probe launcher and still some tank.
Bombers are my first choice if I don't want a online Combat probe launcher, most time hunting you spend flying through regions, the faster the ship the better, also no lock delay after decloaking is awsome.
Nullified T3s with warp speed rigs also work great, but they are more expensive to loose, start with cheap hunters.
I am not a big fan of Recons, not a great tank, not a awsome warp speed and bubbles are a problem...

On a more serious note you can active Shield tank it similar to Gulnar's Sin, but its a fairly expensive boat and doesn't offer many benefits in larger scale Blops. For larger scale operations you tend to go Shield if you want to fill the DPS role or Armor if you want to be support (usually that happens in large Blops drops like 15+, so you support Redeemers usually). For small group standard buffer shield works fine, and the DPS helps kill the target and get off grid to safety to quicker. If DPS tanking was ever a thing in PvP, it is in small Blops ganks. Get in, kill target, get out, quick and decisive. So the weaker tank of shield is a reasonable trade off over armor in that smaller scale.
As for Cyno ships, I've personally used an Arazu in the past, but it is slow and people paying attention will get away from you. Its only idiots or afk people you will catch, which is fine, but it can make hunting seem more like a chore rather than a hunt. Lately I've been using a Manticore, since I don't have the skills to use a Prospect on my cyno alt.

Here''s the Panther I used for drops but if you have a proper blops fleet and you don't end up dropping on bait, usually it's just a matter of locking up and blapping targets before they all go down. However if your blops fleet is small you may want to change the fit depending on your composition and what you're dropping. The EHP on this Panther is quite low, only 80k but I run with mid-grade slaves so it's 100k+. I focused on dps and it does 1114 heated. |
