Can anyone suggest me a setup for an apocalypse to do Lvl 4 missions?
I was also wondering if T2 Large turrets are a must? Hate to think i'll have to wait another 3 months to do level 4's. Cheers.

Full rack of TI Mega-Pulse, mids are a pair of cap rechargers with a tracking computer and I run either a afterburner or a sensor booster in the last slot.
My lows are duel TII reps with 2 passive hardners a damage mod and the rest are filled with cap relays.
It tanks very nice and so far there is not an NPC that I can't drop.

Thanks for the reply. what sort of fitting skills would i need for this? (i.e what level advanced weapon ugrades?)
Also interesting to note you use passive hardners. Is this because of cpu/PG or do you have the compensation skills to level 5?

Amarr isn't broken - Tux said so.
Just train your skills to level 6...
It's great being Amarr isn't it.

I prefer to keep the CAP for guns and rep and ever since the comp skills (mine are still only levels 3-4) arrived I have moved to passive. As to skills I am not sure as my Apoc is some distance from me, I am unsure what I have left over, but I do have high fitting skills.

To do lvl4's I use this setup. (I do missions in amarr space btw)
5x med drones.
High 5x mega modulated pulse energy beams 2x arbalest siege missile launchers (for the kin/expl dmg) 1x tractor beam (yeah, Im a lazy loot collector :p )
Med 1x 100mn AB II (to hunt down fast BS) 3x Cap rechargers
Low 1x LAR II 1x DB adaptive nano membrane
- Rest of the slots are a mixture or active hardeners, dmg control, heatsink depending on the mission at hand. With this setup, I can solo all the lvl4's I've been offered so far, including angel / guristas extravaganza.
Hope this helps :)

Hey Sardu,
My old apoc setup for level fours consisted of the following.
(High)
6x Mega Modulated Pulse (Not T2 due to CPU) 2x True Sansha Smarties (To take out the little feckers)
(Mid)
1x100MN AB II (Need to get close for the Mega's) 3x Cap Charger II's
(Low)
2xLAR II 3xRat specific Active Hardeners 2xCap Relays
(Drone bay)
Whatever floats ya boat tbh.
Pricey in some areas, but did the job nicely

I was just on my first level 4 missions with a few friends and I used the following setup :
6 mega modulated whatchacall'em pulses (radio + multi) 2 heavy launchers (going to switch to heavy NOS)
100MN AB 2 Cap Charger II's Heavy named cap booster (cargo full of 800 charges)
2 large repper II's 1600mm rolled tungsten 3 active hardeners Co processor (to get the cpu for all of that)
With N-Type and True Sansha hardeners I can get one resistance over 80 and the other to over 70. Pulses hit hard and it didn't take long to kill a battleship solo. I was also supprised that I could keep up with the damage while there were two battleships and few cruisers shooting at me. Altho with my skills (about 3.8mill SP) the cap runs out too fast and I need to use a booster occasionally (Amarr BS lvl 3, other cap skills lvl 3's and 4's). Need to train few more level of weapon upgrades to get rid off the co-processor and replace it with fourth hardener. Heavy launchers help a lot with the faster cruisers and small ships as my drone skills are quite pathetic... But will still replace those with heavy NOS to help the cap...
I have always wanted to think that staying power is important in missions and therefore I don't use much heatsinks.. But then again it seems few level 4's could be done with single repper setup so I could fit 2 heatsinks after removing the processor.
Altho I am interested in your tactics in lvl 4 missions. Rush and kill the big ones first or stay away from them and shoot the frigates and curisers out of the way?

I always selected the scrambler frigates as primary first, so take them out with your drones and what not making it safe for you to warp just incase, then focus your main firepower (Mega's) on the Battleships and set your drones on the cruisers, remaining frigates.

Sad thing is, i have noob skills in mini and i can fly level 4 with "ease", i have ummm, tech 2 damage mods, thats it, rest is vanila gear.
sad that amarr is supposed to need expensive tech 2 gear to even be able to do what a noob raven can do, sleeping... It's great being Amarr isn't it. |
