Well i've like mining for a long time but usually always stay in high sec for solo or go low sec with my corp. Is there any good technique or is it close to impossible to solo mining in 0.0 space? I would like to get a lot of megacyte and zydrine to perhaps manufacture some ships or sometimes make profit. I've never tried 0.0 solo mining and would really like to know if it is possible for me to mine in it solo such as how to avoid pirates and managing ore i've mined
Right now i use a vexor for my mining but also have a thorax for combat which could also be easily used for mining. Thanks for anyones help

Its doable but not really worth it.
If you're a miner, join a 0.0 alliance, go there, mine your brains out.

I hear that Dominix's make good solo 0.0 miners. ----- Lighten up a little bit. It's only the end of the world. |

It is, I know from experience. Put miners in highslots(6), if you wish take 5 minedrones, fill the rest of your dronebay with combatdrones, among them sentries, if you can use them.
Aofcourse, using the Domi expects you to have high droneskills to be truely usefull.
On mining in 0.0, or even low-sec: it's dangerous, but can be done. There are numerous articles on this subject, I am not going over everything described there, search the fora here, or on www.eve-search.com. In short: make insta's,find a system with refiningstation, make insta's, make safespots and leave your miningop when an unknown enters the system. Make insta's. Scan belts with a shuttle and find asteroid as far away from the Belt's entrypoint as possible. Did I mention to make insta's?
On the ore you want: if you have the skills you could go dronehunting, either through missions or by entering Drone Outgrowths. Destroyed drones drop alloys, which are rich in ores.

Cruisers will not cut it in 0.0. You generally need three players with decent skills to effectively mine in 0.0. One to mine, one in a BS to take out NPCs (and guard against cruiser raiding parties), and one to haul. It can be done solo in a Domi, but you need uber drone and tanking skills to take down the larger spawns.

Mega can also mine solo in 0.0 but you need to invest in a faction co-processor to have a good tank and put a cruise lanuncher in the last high slot.

The thing to remember any time you're going in to low-sec, let alone attempting to ninja-mine in 0.0, is not to fly anything you can't afford to loose. If you've got an extra ship lying around, by all means slap some miners on it and see if you can gank some bistot. You'll have to deal with large rat spawns, however, so your tanking skills will need to be good. Either that or you'll have to run from belt to belt trying to avoid rats AND pirates.
Someone else suggeted joining a 0.0 corp, and I highly reccommend that. Then you can mine nice ores under the protection of your fellow alliance members, although it often comes with a more "socialist" format, where you will be required to contribute to the corp in exchange for these benefits.
If you don't know how to get down to 0.0., you can ask around, a lot of 0.0 corps have an Empire-based corp as well that they use for training people to go down to 0.0. I used Research Associates and enjoyed it, if you want info on them you can talk to the character Cold Blade. Otherwise ask around, there are tons of them.
Good luck!

Even if you don't want to join someone else's corp, if you have your own small corp you can try to contact the diplomats of alliances or corps that operate in quiet areas of 0.0 to get permission to come in and mine. You may still get attacked by other corps who come through, but it will cut down on your worries.
You can ninja-mine in a cruiser, but true ninja-mining requires a lot of attention and to be on your toes. It involves making bookmarks 2000km from an asteroid belt that are perfectly lined up with each other, so that you can warp in from one and warp out immediately to the other if there's trouble.
