Machariel: +1 or +2 Turret Slots A bit more CPU (to get that many turrets fitted) A bit more PG (to get that many turrets fitted)
PLS make it something special and not just an overpriced Tempest with an additional slot and extra speed.

I get the feeling that this thread is just turning into "please pimp my uber expensive ship", keep it sensible before it just gets ignored.

The Cynabel needs more grid - the rupture got a grid boost, and now the muninn has got a grid boost too, but the Cynabel is left out in the cold and it's stupidly hard to fit out. I don't care too much about the CPU, but ****, the grid needs improving.
Also, the Machariel could use another turret hardpoint because compared with other faction BSs it's considerably weaker in this regard. Vindicator has 7 turret hardpoints (but then so does a Mega, so no surprise there) but the CNR gets an extra launcher slot! Perhaps this is a bonus better suited to the Fleet Tempest because who the hell uses those, they suck right now.

the daredevil is a serpentis ship, thats why it has blasters... just look at the mwd bonus, witch it shares with the vigilant and the vindicator

Edited by: slothe on 23/11/2006 12:06:07 fleet tempest - more pg, maybe another turret (this really sucks relative to macheriel as mach has at least 2 more bonuses).
macheriel - fine as it is tbh
vindicator - a small pg increase would be nice, but not absolutely necessary.
vigilant - touch more pg needed (like rax and deimos imho)

Edited by: MOS DEF on 23/11/2006 13:55:18 The cynabal since i flown it into PVP a lot. This ship is fine and needs no grid or CPU. You can fit a full rack of 220mm II AC without any trouble. It's fine and actually **** great as it is.
The Vigilant could use some more grid but is a fine ship too otherwise.

Navy Raven could stand to get a bit more Cap and a bit more grid.
Fitting 7 Tech 2 Seige is rather imposible if you want to have a good load out and maybe use a Nos.

1) Worm: the nice range bounus makes me want to use standard launchers on it, but the CPU is way too tight. And it only gets worse if you want any BCU IIs, once you get your launchers and a damage mod or two you don't have enough CPU to fit a proper shield tank.
Actually, all the navy frigates (if not all faction frigates) probably need a bit of grid/CPU. The Hookbill is the only one I've been able to come up with a decent setup for, and even then I had to use a lot of expensive faction gear to get it to all fit.
2) Ashimmu: ok, 7 high slots, that looks good. 175 grid per nos, not so good. Even with only two nos, a missile launcher, and 4x quad light beam lasers (the lowest-grid cruiser laser), it eats up almost all the grid. There's no way to fit a second rep or a plate without fitting mods or empty slots. So either way, you get a crippled ship that's way too fragile for its cost.
3) Vigilant: it's a good ship, but a little more grid like the Deimos would be nice. Same reasons... it's supposed to be an improved Thorax, but it can't really fit an improved setup. And some extra speed and/or agility would be nice... it is half Minmatar after all.
Oh, who am I fooling. Give it +500 grid, +100 CPU, HAC resists, and a big enough drone bay to launch 5 fighters with spares. If any ship deserves to be a solo pwnmobile, it's the best-looking ship in the game. So give me a win button for christmas.

In this case Boost the Apocalypse grid to support the same! And maybe the Megathron and the Tempest!

Well, I have a Succubus, and I can say, it's a complete fitting nightmare. One thing I can say for sure, is it does not need more highslots. The offense is already quite good. The ship really, really needs about +15 cpu, and +10 base grid. A workable fitting is possible, but the range of workable fittings is extremely narrow atm.
The Fleet Tempest is fine. It does not need an additional turret slot, because it needs that additional medium slot much, much more. Please, kindly leave my favorite faction ship alone.
I don't have direct experience with the other ships, so I can't comment on those. J.A.F.O.

Seems to me that the smaller the ship, the worse time you have fitting it atm... Most of the faction frigates are useless compared to tech2, and barely an improvement over tech1. I would love to see them be a true middleground, and be a bit more affordable. Its a shame that 90% of them will just float around in some guys hanger from now til eternity :(

Faction ships are designed to use faction gear with pilots who have maxxed-out skills. That's basically the short, sucky, expensive end of it. Just because a ship is expensive on the Eve market, doesn't mean it should be uber. Play around with quickfit and you can fit everything you want, using faction gear. ----------

Wrong. Faction ships did not get a boost but their T1 counterparts did. They were forgotten. --------- Boryokudan Recruitment. Technica impendi Caldari generis. Pax Caldaria! |
