What is an effective and legal way to prevent macro-miners from sucking all the our in a .7 system that a miner frequents? I'm sure all players, who don't use macro-miners, would benefit from any strategies posted in this thread.

There are plenty of threads devoted to this topic, but it all boils down to the same thing - harass macroers enough and they will pick up and move.

#1 Petition each and every one of the macro accounts, give as much detail as you can while still being short and to the point.
#2 Start stealing their ore, bumping the miners away from their cans, overall harassing in every way possible.
#3 Join the channel 'macrointel' in game and see if you can get some assistance in putting together a suicide gank squad and start popping miners.
Usually, after going through step one and then proceeding directly to step 2, either you will be able to stop worrying about mining on your own (by keeping the ore you are stealing from the macros) or you will have chased off the macro operation so you can go back to mining. Unfortunately, if the petition gets the macros banned, they will just start new accounts and be back at it within hours. There are people making real money at this, and they treat it as much more than just a game.

If you want to get Concordokkened. You could flip their can, then blow it up, but why? Might as well keep it and get some reward for your endeavors.

Burn out 70km from your target, click approach and actiavte your microwarpdrive. Accelerate to 6km/s and bump the macrominer 60km away from his asteroid. Greif his can and repeat at will.

I'm not familiar with some terminology, like grief his can or repeat at will. why do i have to drive the macro miner 60Km away. will concord waste me for this?

if you FIRE upon a person or a persons assets in space CONCORD will kill you.
Greifing his can... ok well heres how you do it, get close to his can and drop one of your own, any item will do. Then DRAG the entire contents of HIS can into YOUR can, you've committed a crime against him but he can't do a **** thing.
Hes allowed to shoot you but i doubt he will, mainly because A) they have no offence and B) if they do, you can fire back on them.
The advantage of stealing all of their ore like this is that it forces them to either A) Accept it as a loss, or B) steal it back and thus you can shoot them.
