I met our old friend cap bug two times in last days. It came absolutely without any invitation and did his work as he did before. I havent seen any thread about it on forums so i have to make this one. Any of u have the same very annoying visitor?

Sighting confirmed multiple times since the end of last week. I need a bigger flyswatter for that thing...

if you mean the bug were you drop out of warp but your cap is still at least 50% then yes. If not, then I've no idea.

Yeah... A corp mate 'o mine had -70K cap... Yes Minus... lol if he had been alone he might have lost his ship...
These things are pretty much more important than further nurfing....?

Easy fix.
Dock, take off all modules from ship, log off for like 5 minutes, come back on, put modules back on and you should be fine.
Worked for me anyway.

had it several times on my kestrel running missions. afterburners taking 3x the amount of cap. cap charging in reverse ie down not up. cap staying a 100%, cap charging negative and god knows what other tricks it was up to.
But not quite the old cap bug. It didn't cut my cap to 1/10. only screwed with recharge rates etc. And the afterburners taking more cap than usual was not as bad as it used to be with mwd's back in the "old" bug days

I've been having the same problem, but only in a certain ship. I noticed another user mention this exact ship and I wonder if maybe this bug is selective to the "Kestrel".

Yes couple of times on my Tempest. One shield boost from a large shield booster took half of my cap. But i think this is a graphic glitch, i could run my large shield booster even if i had 0 cap .

The ABs did double cap drain on my bestower yesterday, but at low cap they didnt drain at all, plus I could jump with 0 cap without stopping in the middle. :p seems it was all just borked. works today it seems --

Aye, I've had it two or three times in the last two weeks. Started a thread about it even but it got shoved to the back end pretty fast.

I've had it a few times, but not exactly..
My cap will show half full but I'm unable to fire weapons because it says I don't have enough power.

I've had this in an Omen and a Breacher, so it's not ship specific. I've seen 3 different types.
1) The cap will not drain, regardless of what I do (and while stuff that normally would drain the cap will run, I can't turn it off).
2) Everything I do drains the cap to zero instantly, and recovery is extra slow.
3) The cap does not drain initially, but then slowly drains well down below where it would have been, effectively recharging in reverse.
It's possible #3 is just #2 slowed down dramatically.

Corp mate just lost a megathron to this. 3x nullifiers got him. He is a noob to NPC farming and he didnt have a MWD on. He had 25% of his cap and it told him he had none. Im having the same problem but I have over 50% of my cap and it wont let me shoot. Another corp mate had the issues of all of his modules turning off and having a hella slow recharge rate.

Experienced one last in an armageddon, with the Shield booster using two times the cap. Relogged, problem fixed. Non similar experience yet.

I think a cap bug is back - not sure it's the same one.
Normally I can run 4 afterburners on my Bestower and keep my cap steady at about 75% but lately it sometimes eats all my cap with the exact same modules.
Wierd.

hmmm... ok. I was able to fire 3 tachyons for ... forever on my Scorp, even with a cap of 0.0 for all that time. :) |

Well I've been doing quite a few agent missions in the same area and I've experienced the AB bug described by others.
It seems, in my experience, to happen in some solar systems and not others, e.g. I always get it when I'm in Attyn in the Essence region (but then never experience it in some of the surrounding solar systems).
Not paid close enough attention to notice if that's always the case, though, or just a fluke.

I experienced a capacitor bug today. It was draining all by itself until I put my MWD on then it started to recharge itself giving me infinite cap

yea same here (but with a raven)...i kinda liked that hehe and after a looong time chaining npcs they suddenly started turning off, saying theres not enough energy blablabla...while cap still showed 33% or so :P
earlier it was the opposite: cap was used up in no time! normally when i only keep 1 tachyon on im supposed to GAIN cap but it would drain up anyway
got the same with the kestrel, where u warp and the energy is taken away slowly instead of all at once, as well as AB's slowly using up all cap. weirdness

I did the very same, i was thinking sure this isn't right, after relogging, and still no dice, i decided to drain my cap (not that it took long) . Then for the hell of it when realising my sheild booster wouldn't run my cap completely out, i thought lets fire up the drives, and i couldn't belive it when i saw my cap recharging at about 5 times the rate it norm does, then sticking on max
Tis a good job i was watching the screen when i starting firing all my guns, normaly i don't bother when im shooting crusier npc's, my cap vanished in seconds ------------------------

It would be very helpful if anyone would know how to reproduce the cap bug, it's been paining us for a long time.

Maybe it has to do with modules not knowing how to turn themselves off? I had a hardener that wouldn't turn itself off (it stayed red until I logged off for enouph time to make my ship disappear.)
What happened to Shakaz is exactly what happened to me. -----------------------------------

I can reproduce this bug fairly reliably on my blackbird with 2 mwd's set on autorepeat, when I approach a stargate I turn them on and within a few gates my cap will start going into negative and never run out.

Well, I can't because, like agent rewards, it's random.
Sometimes, cap display will show empty but everything keeps going, the display jumps back to 100% and then drains again, normally sometimes, all of a sudden at other times.
Or, the other way round: the display will be stuck at around 70% and then the little computer voice tells you that you don't have enough power for whatever module you want to use (and the modules have of course turned themselves off even with autoepeat on and the cap showing full when it wasn't).
Plus, the entire humbug does seem to be system-specific: A jump into another system may (or may not) rectify the display and/or cap usage problem.
All modules, all ships, all systems. Random. Rebuild from scratch?

I agree with JP. It is total random thing. Sometimes it appears immediatly after logging into game. Sometimes few minutes later. After relogging everything is fine again.

I'm wondering if it's to do with capacitor mods? I have two medium cap batteries on my Moa, and two afterburners in the other medium slots, and 4 power diagnostic system Is, and I get the problem a lot.

don't know if this will help at all but...
Me and my buddy were testing (or trying to test)some configs and he kept getting the full cap gfx but after a bit his SB and other mods would just turn off as if he ran out of cap(useing apoc with all relays in lows). We then went to a system next door (Ranni) then he was fine and working perfect so he came back over to the orginal system (miroona) and the cap bug was back. So i decided to follow him to ranni and then i started to get the cap drain bug myself (Raven with 5 relays in low slots turn on 1 lrg sb and cap would be empty after 5 charges from SB)
one thing we relised that help was to eject then reboard (while ejected our pod would lose half its sheilds real fast for some reason then when reboarded the same happen to the BS sheilds)
once this was done the ship operated fine except all the low mods and anyother mod that doesn't get directly tuned on and off by pilot (sheild amps) were off and couldn't be trned back on till after we docked and open the fitting room, and ofcourse once we exited the station all the buggs would come back
we eventully gave up and drank Quafe until the stars stoped spining and we were flat on our backs ----------------------------------------------- What doesn't kill you makes you injured.
