Edited by: welsh wizard on 06/11/2006 15:11:40 I have 1290 entries in my buddies list. I haven't added anyone to it for a very long time so its a relic of my more zealous 'show info'ing' days.
Unfortunately since the 24hours server upgrade downtime in early November the game has become unplayable. Everytime someone in my buddies list logs on/off and their little picture appears in the bottom right the game freezes and stutters for 2-3 seconds. When a node drops you can imagine the problem, especially if I'm in space.
"So remove them all" you're probably thinking, problem is it takes about 15-20seconds to remove one entry and you can only remove one at a time. Holding down shift to try and 'remove all' doesn't work.
I petitioned it hoping CCP may have some way to purge my buddies list but unfortunately they can't.
So I'm positng here to find out whether anyone else has had the same problem since the November server upgrades. Maybe some of you have figured out how to solve it without sitting around for almost 8 hours removing them one at a time?
Ta.

Response: " GM Tricore Sent - 9/10/2006 1:54:00 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, unfortunately we have no way to delete them for you. The only way to get rid of them is if you manually remove them yourself. "
Now...a few days later i finally got it to deleta all "buddies" and it only took like maybe 5 mins to delete them,,,after tryin back and forth....just gotta figure it out how i did it...so i'll be back with some info hopefully
Cheers

Edited by: washy2 on 07/11/2006 01:23:17 *Ok Did a small test with 5-6 dudes in Buddylist...
*as i recall it...i opened P&P
*right click Buddy list and open Group window
*Make something to eat...wait for it to get cold...put in the micro...warm it for *2 minutes...take it out...Eat watch tv for half an hour..maybe..
*So when u finally see the buddies in the group window you opened
*Now it should be cool (i dont guarantee) to close P&P
*start at top on the list Click character..just to "tag" it... *then
*CTRL-A Right Click....Choose Bottom Delete from Buddy list(Number of *entries to delete) from here it should go pretty quick ...talking minutes... *If it just Deletes the first..."Tag" top again CTRL-A and Delete from buddylist...
* OOh ...And when it Starts deleting...minimize the window...
***Tho my explaining skills are Uuuber low...i hope you get the picture :P***

Ctrl-a and then deselect one entry. Delete all, minimize windows, shut down your monitor and go to bed. Delete the last one when you wake up.
I think this solves your problem.
