This missions got a significant amount harder since i last had a go at it, the second stage is full aggro and there is tons of bses and cruisers. ive had to warp out for the 1st time in ages and its a 90km trek to the gate to go back in. Has anyone else done this recently and noticed a steep incline in difficulty?

Seems the same to me for the past few months.
If you shoot at something on the left side, you only get 1/2 agro I have to warp out but then I'm still fitted with T1 stuff. With a Gisti booster, I suspect I could tank the spawn. Kill the cheetah cruisers first is my motto!

I've noticed this as well. The spawns orbit round some roids in that area at varying speeds. If you pull something to the far left when most of the rats are that side of the roid, it reduces your chances of getting the rest of the spawn aggro as well.

hey hey
Havent noticed a difficulty increase and its normally one of my refusal missions ( just too time consuming )
Ive played agro on this mission and some times its all, sometimes you can agro each small group.
At first i used to agro a small frig as far from any other group as possible and id wait till hes done his patrol and stays more to his own group. personally I love to agro everything for ****s and giggles :) much more fun and it saves time trying to make an effort to pick off stuff. you also get a nice long snail trail of cans which also makes life easier to collect :)
Tank and Take kinetic, frigs, cruisers, BS's
This mission is (in my experience) alot easier to tank that some of the others due to its extroadinary ammount of kinetic compared to say Informant with its all damage types or angel missions or (in my experience) some amarrian **cough**Scum** missions

in the second pocked, shoot at a Bobcat at the left side of the spawn and run. Then just the frigs, bobcats and BS's on the left side will aggro you. the Cheetahs will stay put as well. If you release drones when the aggroing group has clear the roid field, you don't hae to worry about anything. speed away with an AB and let your drones +guns/missles take the rats appart. I actually like this mission, as it yields some 15-20m in bounty and 2000-3000m3 of loot in less tehn 1.5 hours.

On the second stage I take out the nearest group of ships which should be the squad of frigates only. This includes a couple of bounty hunters that in theory could scramble you. As they're all frigates they die quick and clear the sky of clutter without aggroing anyone else.
The next target for me is a cheetah on the left and just keep plugging away at whatever aggros whilst running in the opposite direction. Preferably it will be cheetahs first because of their speed and phantis and gigamar because they use cruise and can hit at range unlike the sequestor (sp?).
I have noticed that if the chasing ships get bored and go back to thier original positions then firing on them once they're back can aggro the whole bunch so I generally move in again and those already aggro'd will pursue me again and I can then pop them at leisure.
