Ok, recently had an alt train for and install said implant. Was looking forward to the effects of same. While it does perform as indicated with the reduced cycle times, I saw absolutely no change in the gang member yeild amounts.
Now my question is, has anyone else had the same result after installing this implant? I have submitted a bug report, I'm just wondering if I could possibly work around it, or fix it somehow. |

As far as I know, the purpose of the implant was to give better yield.
To accomplish this, to work around some technical problems, CCP instead reduced the cycle time, effectively giving you greater yield. Your mining yield per cycle therefor will not go up because of the implant.

it does what it says it does, decreases cycle time. Nothing more, nothing less.
It used to increase yield, but it was not stacking with the foreman skill, so you either go the foreman skill 10% bonus, or Director 10% bonus, not both. So they cnaged the bonus to mining cycly time, not yield. The result, faster cycle times, which = more yield over time.

Do note though that the exact bonus you ought to get is still under debate in Halada's mining guide.
Do check up on the sticky in the starbase section if you're interested in knowing more.

Edited by: KillerOfMacros on 07/11/2006 22:01:22 If you look at the actual gang module itself it will tell you the % of cycle time reduction. 21% (director 5 and squad cmd 4). The other 2 bonuses are currently BORKED... I think thats the technical term.
It dosn't improve your mining amount, dosn't improve your mining foreman bonus. The ONLY thing that works with the implant is the bonus for the gang module cycle time.
BTW with Sqad Cmd 5 the cycle time bonus is 22.5%... enjoy

From my own experience, if there are at least 13 miner 2s running, I will use the command link. Is that what you mean? Cause there is a difference between the command link and the implant...the link reduces cycle time, while the implant increases yield..and the yield bonus happens regardless of which ship you are in. If I have fewer than 13 lasers to give command link bonus to, then I just have that character be another miner, rather than using him for protection/command links.
Does that answer your question?

I had seen the increase the module bonus, no arguement for that one, it did increase the bonus given. However the bonus to the mining foreman skill, does not appear to be present. My mining director gets a 21% bonus from the Mining Foreman Link (module), he has squadron command level 4, as well.
So for now, the current consensus is that the gang yield bonus is not functioning as indicated by the implant description. Thanks for the imput.
