Edited by: Infomad on 07/11/2006 21:44:43 Edited by: Infomad on 07/11/2006 21:42:53 My friend and I was attempting to find out what measures could be taken when someone steals from you. We were in 1.0 space right outside the station. He jetisoned a can with some ore in it. I took the ore from it then he opened fire on me. At which time Concord destroyed him. I was under the impression that he would get kill rights on me.
Since I am taking the path of the miner, is there anything I can do if someone comes up and steals from my can. Or is it different in different security areas.

In most cases 42 is the right answer but in this case it is so, so...
Can flagging works like this any system thatÆs not true 0.0:
You drop a can, some one loots the can, you shoot that person who stole from your can, you loot there can, you dock, and you wait out 15m timer, rinse and repeat...
ThatÆs how it works for high sec pirating when attacking jet can miners
If your friend jetted the ore and you took from his can (your out of his gang at this time right?) you would be flagged to him. If youÆre in his gang you can take from his can with out being flagged witch is what it sounds like happened to you guys. __________________________________ Stay still! This wont hurt... Yarr! |

We were not in a gang. Maybe he opened fire too soon. Do you get a pop-up or anything that tells you that you have kill rights on someone?

Anyone you are allowed to shoot without Concord reprisal will be flashing red in the overview.

I'd petition it. Sounds like a glitch to me. At the very least, the GM might be able to explain why he didn't have aggro rights.

Edited by: Gaven Blands on 09/11/2006 13:26:01 Actually DO waste there time.
They waste plenty of our time with buggy software that results in losses, which results in lost finite RL time undoing what they essentially have messed up.
Anybody who has received a "Sorry our logs show that everything is perfect" email from a GM will know the pain.
The Stock Reply #3 should say
"Sorry, we write BUGGY software. How are we supposed to know what bugs you will encounter and have a system that can make logs in prediction of that? And even if we did write logs to see bugs, which don't actually exist thank you very much, we'd probably have bugs in the logging code as well. Sorry we cannot reimburse you. Please renew your subscription at the end of the month like a good little boy and shut the hell up. And in case you missed the inference, because our logs do not confirm your story, we believe you are a liar, that is our assessment of you, our customer."
WASTE as much of there time as you can. It is only fair. Just do it knowing you will get no satisfactory response, and you will not suffer similar disappointment.
Put home addresses in loss and killmails. Maybe then the community will find a way to control themselves a bit better. |
