The dawn of a new age is quickly approaching. The eroding of morals facilitated by the rise in technology has led to the slow death of the old world politics. The Empires are crumbling. Truthfully, I am still in awe at what I witnessed recently: a major battle between two major factions over nothing more than who belonged where. I watched, a follower of the evil Sansha, a name that engenders hatred be the mere whisper of an old way of life from a distance place. Remember, this was an evil that brought all of the factions together for a common cause. Pilots of every race were fighting side by side against us. Look how far you have come. Look how far society has crumbled.
Humanity is dead. Planet bound politics and society are largely irrelevant as a single pilot, with their near limitless supply of resources can exert influence on a whim. Yet, pilots choose not too. You are focused on your own personal goals, debauchery, and exerting your will on others in space, sometimes for no other reason besides that you can. Often times the charade of a political ideal is used to hunt someone that you simply do not like. You use planet dwellers as pawns in the web of justification you spin for yourselves. Caldari freedom, Intaki independenceāit makes no difference. Every pod pilot is the same deep down, a heartless, soulless machine. Technology has robbed us of the need to be moral and ethical. We can kill at will and never be killed. We never have to consider the consequences of our actions and many never do. Make a mistake, simply clone. That is not humanity. We are nothing more than an advanced chip in a spaceship, something plugged in to make it work. The more skilled we are, the better our Machine is. The better we are paid. We are now nothing but Ghosts, specters of our former selves, of what humanity once was, mere vapors locked in the hearts of metallic beasts that lumber around feeding on those weaker than us. |

I reject your assertion that all pod pilots have cast aside ethics and abandoned the will of their planetary brethren.

I concur with Jalia, it is my belief that these dark times will define humanity and a new age of reason will bloom

I wouldn't say humanity is dead. Erosion of morals is a hallmark of human nature. You are simply pointing out that it keeps sliding. The humanity that quixotic optimists want to believe in has always been dead, however.

There are no absolutes in either "right", nor "wrong" so what are morals worth?
As far as I'm concerned, humanity has always been exploiting itself. Ship captains are doing the same, cloaked in a new and exciting profession. It's just a pity it took you so long to realise this. -----

no no, most still care plenty for their planetary brethren, that is, when it suites their own needs. You, and your corporation would be one of the few I might consider an exception. Look at what happened recently with the Gallente convo through Caldari space? Has anyone considered Veto to be a merc corp, until now? they are just another to fall to the power and corruption of wealth. |

Speaking personally, I don't fight merely for God and Empire, but also for the people of the Empire.

technology has defined humanity as just another tool for itself. Think about it, everyone is so willing to jam machinery into their heads made by the Jovians, a secretive corporation, I can't keep slave implants on the market long enough in Empire. People snatch those just to upgrade themselves, and those are made by us, those who are hated because of nothing more than poor implementation of a belief system.
While the big empires fight amongst themselves, the fringe corporations will be able to move in at will...Angels, Serpentis, hell, Sanshas...Everyone is digging their own grave with all this posturing and chest thumping about an imaginary line in space. It is rediculous and very disappointing. This trivial fighting is why I left Empire space. I wish those of you still around the best of luck, you will certainly need it. |

A tool is a tool. While I have no fondness for the ideal of the Nation, I am quite willing to admit they make a quality product. But, I believe, in time, the Federation will learn how to make a similar, if not superior, product, which will then outstrip the Nation's market, due to the ethical backings of each.

Your logic is fundamentally flawed...Veto has been in the merc business for a short while now. -----

ethical backings of the Sanshas today with the Gallente? Please, I lived there, nothing but debauchery and excess...that is no free market with the ability to compete with focused determination... |

To think my logic is based on a single corporation's actions is ignorant of the surrounding facts. Veto allowed themselves to be the tool of a greater power at the expense of regional stability. Mercs eliminating a corp is one thing, that is simple competition issues that the buyer of their services has with another. Hiring mercs to destabalize a system and promote civil unrest is the first step towards genocide and an all out war. These are two very different things. |

I would have thought a servant of True Core would celebrate such an existance? Is that not what all Sansha strive for?
Anyway, you are wrong. On the far side of the cluster we fight for freedom and the end of slavery. For us, our people and sentients everywhere. There is no nobler cause.
