Hi all,
Got this problem on my hands .. My main has about 30M SP and in the same corp from sept 2003. She also has a 5.0 sec status due to ratting in 0,0 where the corp is based.
Now a few months ago i decided to give piracy a try and created myself an alt .. trained it a little bit and started to pirating. Now he is -10 with about 1M SP Oh man .. i really love it . But thing is, he is still an alt with limited skills and abilities
So what to do .. Give over to piracy with my main and leave my corp and damage her reputation or ... stop training her and swich to my pirate alt and train up all skills again with him.
Decisions .. decisions ..

You alt on the same account?
tbh I would never stop training my main and if I want to pirate etc I would do it with the high skill character it won't damage your reputation aslong as you are an honourable pirate.

You'd think your reputation would get hurt, but tbh it only does with the hardcore anti-pies and carebears. Everyone else just accepts it as a career choice .

Very true. I have a very laid back and friendly enviroment to the majority of "non-pirates" I've had the pleasure to fight during PvP (with the exception of the Caracal guy I fought in my thread ) and they all respect me as a pirate. Granted, I don't do gate-camping or other nasty stuff.
Oddly enough, most of the smack I've received have been from other pirates. -- Piewat! Low SP piracy Now with more stories and small clips! |

Started antipirate.
Then went nbsi with a different alliance.
Then went pirate when corp left alliance.
Then joined antipirate alliance again and led my smaller corp into a merger witha larger corp.
Once evrything was settled in I joined EST.
I would guess that a corp which would refuse you once you passed a few checks is probably not the type of corp that would be worth your time. A pirate who has been pirating for a while with a 30mill character would be a massive asset to a corp, pirate or not.

Exactly how is piracy damaging you're reputation. Granted some alliances like ISS will deny acces to known pirates, but many alliances out there - and many corps for that matter, really don't care. In fact they would be thrilled to have a 30M char with pvp experience on-board.
Go all out. PS: The only problem i see, is that if you get podded, you're clone will most likely cost more than an Interceptor. :) -----

Pfft... real men don't worry about clones.
Besides, if your 30m SP character gets popped with no Clone, that 1m SP alt is looking a lot better, so dilemma solved.

Pirate with yer main is the right choice. I have been carebear, alliance soldier, anti pirate, amd pirate, Now i am in an corp that while not pirate corp in its own right tolerates those of us who choose to pirate from time to time.
As for reputation most dont care. When I was looking for a new corp a while back an ex-alliance mate said he would take me on even with the negative sec as long as I didn't pirate any more while in their corp.

Although pirating is not my thing, if your going to do it, do it honorably, no smack, and do it in 0.0. Those who do it in empire are not pirates at all, just a wannabee who doesn't have the nads to take on someone who might actually shoot back.
Good luck with your new chosen profession. --------------------------------------------------

I think it's hilarious and cute that right after saying "no smack" you moved on to smacking those of us who pirate in Low Sec instead of No Sec. Though a 30mil skillpoint character would have a lot of trouble finding anything like a challenging fight in Low Sec.
Good luck with the piracy and don't worry about your reputation. I've made more friends off of the people I've ransomed than any other way in this game. If you are friendly (but firm!) people will do right by you.

Looks like you didn't watch the interview on EVE-TV. If I remember it right CCP said that they ofc want piracy happen in empire, because in 0.0 it's not really piracy, because there it's fair game, not really criminal/evil. And I agree ...
But I guess in 0.0 the loot is better at least for belt-piracy.

One of the top ways in which Eve differs from life (or history, anyway) is just how easy it is to be an ex-pirate without having to swing from the gallows for it, so, really, there's no reason not to go wild with all the skill points at your command.
By all means, use your primary. Your rep as a goody-two-shoes will go down the toilet, of course, but you'll get a different and (honestly) more interesting rep-- which will be good in its own way.

il leave my comments to say simply - 1. you cant pirate in 0.0 2. you can have nads attacking people in low sec. any one entering lowsec takes the risk of being attacked and is fair game.

I do think piracy is a necessary part of the game, picking on noobs and haulers who happen to wander in low sec is hardly pirating. I agree that if anyone goes into low sec, they are risking it, but still it has been in my experience that 90% of the peeps that get ganked in low sec are noobs and haulers or way out numbered.
Anyway, not here to flame or put down anyones chosen profession just making a point and yes I do have respect for many pirates, but they are few and far between. --------------------------------------------------
