You bought your t1 cap recharger bpo for about 80k from the market, or another player.
T1 CE/SBA were released in the T2 lottery system the same way T2 bpos are, people had to win them and spend research points to claim them, since then they've either been gathering dust, or traded between players for billions of isk (10 billion isk being recent price for SBA1 bpo).

I've never ever whined about any T2.
But this time i just have to say: This is ridiculous!
Though i can't come up with a better idea how to balace the already existing T1 Cargo Expander BPOs, this is still ridiculous

There is no 'or else' about it, imho. It makes zero sense to have introduced tech 2 expanders and sba's into the game in this way. So naturally why not go all the way and seed the market with their tech 1 version bpos as well. But then this is CCP we're talking about, so don't count on it.
What a hack job of an introduction of new technology. These are significant items and its just done with no warning at all. People wake up one morning, log on, and the arbitrary 'hand of god' has magically transformed their tech 1 bpo into a tech 2 bpo. Except for those silly enough to have had their bpo in a factory. God forbid they actually have it in production. Then, it isn't magically transformed. Are they therefore screwed? Or do they petition and simply wait for 2 months for the magic wand to wave?
Either way it is a joke. I never knew magic was part of Kali, or its precursor. For CCP's next trick, why not introduce space mages that can cast spells, evil spectres that can take over ships and magic beans that can destroy planets. Makes just as much sense.
Or better yet just send in the clowns.
Why do we even bother with research agents anymore? Just shut them down and forget it. The research and development aspect of this game is a complete farce. And idiotic actions like this make this part of the game even more laughable. It is to R&D what PvP would be like if they changed PvP controls overnight to just put one fire button on each ship and whoever hits the button first blows up the other guy's ship.
Instead of agents, why not just have sensible ways to get advanced bpo's like scavenger hunts in 0.0 using Freighters. Makes just as much sense.
How do decisions like this get made anyways? Is it just left to some intern? The receptionist? The cat? Seriously. I am incredibly curious about the process, if it can even be called that.
This, and numerous other decisions of this kind over the last year, demonstrates such an utter lack of concern for players who are into production and R&D that it makes me question why I am playing this game.

Both T2 and Local hull expanders have been changed to 27.5% expansion on the test server. One must ask why do the upgrade from T1 > T2 now, if not to give these BPO holders a chance to milk the market with products that are about to be nerfed. Should have made this change at the same time at least.

i had an rd agent ever since they got out in the game. i have gazilions rd point on him. i get NADA, NADA NDA NADA. they are so ****** up. and now some retards get a t1 bpo converted to t2 ? u must be joking and sorry to say you f... the entire eve world- SHAME on you ccp.

Doesn't anyone remember the fuss when they brought out tractor beam BPO's and had the NPC price wrong? The mentioned taht they were going to fix it in the patch notes and everyone went on a mass BPO buying spree.
They realised their mistake and decided NOT to make teh change to price - which ****ed off people who had bout 100,000 bpo's.
Some changes (fixes?) need to be brought in quietly otherwise the advanced knowledge can seriously stuff up the market.

Its going to be interesting to see which fanfester thats going to magically get a t2 BPO this year.
To those who use "life is unfair, get over it" as an argument for this discussion; I pay to play, and I would like all paying customers to have an equal chance of getting lucky, not only those on first-name basis with the high and mighty.
The t2 lottery was bad, but this, the way this has been handled, looks like cameraderie and corruption on the behalf of those who control the seeding imho. Giving the same player ISK printer 1 and then just flashing the firmware to ISK printer 2 seems plain wrong.

I am a bit confused here.
I just noticed that I have an Expanded Cargo Hold I BPO laying in a hangar somwhere. I am pretty sure I have never used it and as far as I remember I bought it few days after release 'cause I wanted to supply Lonetrek with expanders in my noob days.
The thing is though, that I am pretty sure it used to be a basic expander BPO. I could be wrong.

Miner 2 and Shield Boost Amplifier were given out as part of the old system. You had to do about 300-500 missions for an agent and you'd get a blueprint mission.

The rich now have once again an opportunity to get even richer... another balance is tipped over. I spent a lot of time trying to get a few 100 run bpc and I can't even share in the joy of having an isk printer with limited cartridges ?

Looks like CCP really cares about players with many billions of ISK in wallets. They've made tons of ISK off those T1 BPOs, now they'll get even more off magically given T2 BPOs. Well, why shouldn't they care? Probably those multibillionaires have much more than one account. It's safe to assume they pay with GTCs for most of their accounts, so, indirectly they bring a lot of $$$ to, much more than an average Joe with 1 account, so, screw Joe. Let him pay obscene amounts of ISK to those Eve gods and make them even more powerful and happy. And how did they got there? By clicking on agent convo button like 3 years ago, something that those of us who weren't here 3 years ago will never be able to achieve. Nice game balancing
