I'm getting started in industry, on a trial account. I'm only able to research one BPO at a time and that really blows because it means I can't deploy all my isk (it's a cheap module).
I'm curious if anyone is selling BPOs that are partially researched (basically enough to hit the sweet spot without paying a fortune for it).
Please contact me in game if you think you can help, leave me a message or something!
edit: I tried the blueprint channel already but they wanted like 15m for a blueprint that was researched to 10, when it would have been way better to get a blueprint researched to 6 or 7 instead. |

Did you already look through the available contracts?
Which BPO are you looking for?

10 mill sounds reasonable. I suggest going for it. Pay for the extra ME now so you pay less for materials in the long run.

If you're getting started, consider BPCs initially, while you train up the skills to let you have multiple research and manufacturing slots. It means less ISK is tied up in the BPO so more to invest in materials and finished products. |

Laboratory Operation only has a prereq of science III. Train up a couple more slots. |

BP copies and researched originals can only be sold on the Contracts system. And you can see who offers them on the Contracts system, so your best bet is to send THEM an in-game mail asking for a deal. Because you know they have the blueprints you want, since they're offering them in Contracts.
People typically want to keep their researched originals and just sell copies. There's no difference in manufacturing, other than the limited production runs. I, too, recommend starting with copies, because they are much cheaper, and because the products that sell may change. |

I guess if you like the game just sign up for a month. You don't loose anything. If you sub at day 1 of a trial you still get the other 29 days. You don't loose anything by subbing. |

As well, you could always ask someone to research a BPO for you. I know someone that will do it at-cost [hint, hint] |

If you use a blueprint that doesn't have ME 10, you are quite possibly going to spend more on materials than the market price of the item.

I managed to get a bunch of BPC for the item that I was looking to build, something that will take me about 3-4 days to do, I think, maybe a week.
Thing is, this item isn't great, so I'm going to see if it sells and then switch to something else most likely. Even with max lines (which I'm pretty sure for me will be 5 lines, since going to 6 wouldn't be worth it if I couldn't thereafter get to 9 or 10).
I'm going to keep looking through the market slowly to try to see if I can find another item.

A good item today may not be tomorrow, but could be again in a week (or longer). The markets are in constant flux, just plan in advance to limit the chances of getting "fluxed". I typically aim for items I can turnover in 3 days or less. |

Research the turnover of the item.
There's a good number of items that build so fast, and are used so seldom, that one person pumping them out on one production line non-stop can supply the entire gamewide usage of them.
A premier example is the Bastion Module I.
Obviously if you make a few hundred of those, they will take a looooooong time to sell, and you will dramatically affect the market on them.
As for something that will pretty much always sell at a small markup: Cap Booster charges. Don't expect to strike it rich on them, but you *will* profit.
