Honestly, the number of people that I have met IRL that KNOW about EVE, but don't play and never have played and prolly will never play, is kinda funny. Like, they seem kinda interested but some of the bad rap the game has (spreadsheets online, bad communities, etc.) just puts a lot of gamers off. |

lol ... dude, please. Which generation am I? I played Pong in the seventies but started playing EvE in 2013? I am afraid you are not as elite as you think you are. Then you must be the "getting ready for the old folks home" generation if you played pong in 70s. Dude its 2015
Thanks for reminding me what a douche you are.

We need to point out that EVE takes a more mature mind and tell the kids to stop splashing around in one pond after another when there is an ocean to dive into. It was not clear but I am talking about actively promoting EVE online, via social media or other games we play. Example, "Hey, nice elf. Yeah, I just play DDO when I want to turn my brain off. Normally, I play EVE for something really engaging."

I just find it funny that for once something written by me to any forums gets those **** marks (i usually try not to swear on my writings as i have time to think how to bring it out so i don-¦t need to)

Yep, it puts off EvEn existing players in EvE (like me), maybe we should agree to call EvE so far only "strategic MMO"???

Anyhow, the goons do that now. An upgraded version of the common forum swarming.
If you think mass griefing in EVE ONLINE is a thing already ...

But censoring the pretendgoodguys? Nooo ... doesn't fit the narrative.

Will it ever die? no. But then if I said Diablo II was dead you'd believe me.. Nope, 111 viewers on Twitch atm for Diablo II...
Will Eve ever die?
The very worst case scenario is for Hilmar to lay off everyone but just enough servers/techs to keep it "online" and running in its current-at-that-time state and maybe 3-4 "managerial" staff.
He's got it made. If subs dropped to say, 2k then that's enough to keep a dozen or so families fed and the lights in the building on.
He does not care about the consequences of their recent (last year or so) shot in the dark spitballing moves. He'll be ok in the long run, but I'm sure another round of massive CCP layoffs is just around the corner.. This would be the 3rd in my 5 yrs. And I'm sure it will have NOTHING to do with losses of subscriptions.. nope. Look the other way here.........
Will it die? No. Not technically. |

But yes, the daily online numbers seem REALLY low lately. I keep trying to get CCP to get that advertising campaign in higher gear... bring in the new faces to pew and pew with.
