My main (and only) computer is a Mac. Since it is a new Intel Mac, I boot it into Windows to play EVE. EVE is the only Windows program I use, and I hate to reboot my computer every time. While it is unlikely that an official EVE version will be released for Mac OS or Linux, there is another way to make EVE run: WINE/Crossover. If you are a Mac/Linux user like me, take time to go to Codeweavers web site and vote for EVE support - or even pledge money towards this cause! Right now, EVE installs successfully under Crossover, but won't load past splash screen. It is definitely fixable, and with enough pledges EVE on Mac and Linux will become a reality. Here is the link to Codeweavers web site:

Try cedega from Transgaming. Rumour has it that EVE runs under that environment now.
ccp officially works together with Transgaming - according to ccp. At least EVE got a permanent ad on the official DX-download-website for like 3 years now.
Transgaming did a fantastic job on delivering workarounds for ccp's special way to throw sticks between a none-windows-user's legs. The support Transgaming got from ccp in the past has been, well, of a more philosophical nature. Most bumps on the road had been avoided, but the client still got some nasty problems where ccp had to do some work but obviously don't care. Or do you think that it is really hard to redesign the esc-menu over the course of 4 years so it doesn't crash the client under cedega?
Well, as I said, Transgaming did a pretty good job in the past, and they're working on it. I have no idea how or if it works at all on a Mac though. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

You sir, have just made my day.
Thanks :) Warning: May contain flaming, trolling, swearing, typos, crimes against grammar, obscure reference to old films, in jokes, rambling, ranting and references to EvE. |

There's a thread in the EVE Technology forum on how to run EVE under Linux with nothing but WINE (not even Cedega).

And thats why I'm going to lock this thread and the billion others which come this way. We only get a bunch of /signeds.
For the record: I would like a Linux version too. That's the only reason I have XP on my computer.
