Honestly i find EVE to be a lot more enjoyable so long as i stay away from the general message boards, so much whining does indeed ruin the game.

We do our best to keep the whining down to a minimum, unfortunatly we can only do so much .
There is a thread about this in general discussion right now.

If there wasn't an official EVE-forum, ppl would make one of their own, where CCP has no control of. EVE-Insider used to be the whining board. But wasn't all that bad back then.

There's a big difference between complaining and whining.
A complaint is constructive. It identifies the problem. Why it is a problem. And, it offers a solution to said problem
Whining sounds something like this, "WCSs need to be nerfed! I can't kill gate snipers because they equip so many WCSs. NERF WCSs or I quit!" There are several different variations of whining, and we're all guilty of having done it at least once in our life (not necessarily here on Eve-O or in actual writing period). The only problem with whining is that its easier to do. Don't propose a solution, just threaten to pull your subscription. Kick and scream until something happens.
The saddest part of the cycle is that when the changes are made, the whiners then learn that whining will achieve results.
There is also bug reporting.
