Last night, while mining in as Industrial (Iteron 3 with Cargo expanders, 9211 m3) I was asked by another player to help him move his Ore... It seems that using his cruiser (I can't put the name on that cruiser in this post) he had mined 17 m3 of ore and needed help getting it to a station... it was in a secure cargo pod with his name on it...
So what would you do, help him move the ore or not?
Noob in training...

You dont :) You never know, it could be a trap.
Course you could move it in a combat ship and have some fun :D

Do this
* Make station instadock BM * Warp to his can, approach * When in range, open can and your cargohold * Start moving toward station * At 75% speed and still in range of can, move ore * INSTANTLY warp to station using your bookmark (you will instawarp) * Dock * Sell ore * Wait out agression timer * Do it again :)

I dont think you get an aggression timer when taking out of a secure can (might be wrong though - you'll see if you get a warning msg or not), so no danger in helping out. Can make some friends.

If it was 17 m3 then it was defenately a trap. Even a shuttle could move that in 2 loads. If it was 17,000 m3 then maybe it was an honest request, but even still be carefull.

Simply have him gang you, and you can take from his can all day long and you won't get flagged. Just be wary if he docks or leaves the area and his player corp mates show up.. that could be a trap since you'd be "silently flagged". -- Lil Miner Newbie Skills Roadmap | CCG Card Lookup |

Edited by: Detavi Kade on 17/11/2006 23:08:50 I guess what I would do is...
Invite him to your group. Make sure there are no popups about being at war, etc.
Then go to his can, and jettison yourself a can, and name it. Make sure the 2 cans are within 1500meters of each other. Now ask HIM to transfer the ore to your can.
Then pull the ore from your can to your hold, and transport back to station.
I believe this will do the trick. You should not be flagged for aggression in this case.

or do what Kylania said, if that works. Her way is simpler, but I don't know the full can flagging rules.

Id be wary of this at best. Lots of folks love the ole canswitch ploy to gank people. ________________ Whoops, I jumped.

If you can't afford to take the risk, don't. If you have a few badgers to spare, use one with only the worst T1 mods on it, and go see what he's up to.
ECM him to death if he starts something .

Skip the part about making a gang with him and this is actually a really good way to do it. He will get flagged to you, but unless you shoot him there is nothing that he can do to harm you. If he doesn't trust you enough to not have you or your corp mates shot him then he will have to find someone else to haul for him.

Edited by: Nigh7F0x on 18/11/2006 19:28:59 if it was in a secure container then tell him to take it back to the station himself, since he dropped it there to begin with.
