What is the going rate per jump to have someone haul upwards of 900,000 m3 of ore in high sec? I've had a few contracts out to have a large amount of ore moved and I have yet to have someone take the contract. The first one was for 350,000m3 5 jumps through high sec for 200k a jump with 150 million collateral . The second one was for the same except 300k a jump.
How much per jump is it going to take to move a large volume or ore? |

No idea, but why not just get yourself a Miasmos?
It's cheap and with Gallente Industrial 5 it can carry 63,000 m3 of Ore, thats 630,000 Veldspar in one run. |

Depending on how backwater your pickup is, I'd dare say you need to up the reward toward 500k - 1kk per jump. Or somehow have it combined with another contract so the hauler get paid both ways to get there. Don't think many will burn more than a few jumps away from the tradelanes just for one ****** contract. |

http://black-frog.red-frog.org/jumps.php and they are not even paying me commission.
Even if you don't use them, the calculator will give you an idea of the going rate for the job.

If it's hisec to hisec then using Red Frog's or PushX's calculators will give you an idea of price.
Black Frog, part of Red Frog, as suggested above cover nullsec and lowsec, I believe PushX do the same.

Thanks for the response. It looks like I'm going to have to time some runs in a Miasmos. I've been mining close to 900,000m3 per week but it doesn't sell very well in my region but it does in the next region. Hauling that much ore in a Miasmos is about 14 round trips. I'll have to time how long it takes to make the trips vs how much ore I can mine in that time to pay for someone else to haul it. |

Unless someone is empty and passing-by, they are not going to accept a contract in the middle of nowhere.
Example: You can easily move that between trade hubs, because freighter pilots are sometimes empty on the return trip.
I tend to offer for 100k to 200k per jump, and higher if the size is significant or the collateral is high. |

Haulers charge usually based on the number of jumps and are not worried what the cargo consists of. What is important is the ISK value of the cargo and the collateral figure payable if the journey 'goes south'. I just checked the Red Frog jump calculator and a five jump trip works out at 1,300,000 ISK per jump. A nineteen jump works out at about 900,000 ISK per jump so if you wish to continue with your current plan you are going to have to triple what you are offering. On 150 million collateral or value of cargo that is a 3% charge which isn't bad. Using Red Frog for that trip will be 9% which isn't quite so good BUT the job will definitely be taken on.
By your figures I'm guessing you are trying to get raw ore hauled ? If so you are doing it wrong. If you're doing that much business you can afford to buy a small POS tower and compression array and compress all your ore. Before the mineral price collapse due to 'FozzieSov' etc it was possible to fit over a billion ISK worth of high-sec sourced compressed ore into a DST. 'Upwards of 900,000 m3 of ore' will not fit into one Freighter trip.
In addition if you are dealing in that much ore regularly then you can either arrange a regular contract with buyers or arrange deals on the 'Wholesale Trading' mailing list or via the 'Minerals & Manufacturing' chat channel. With either of those three methods the onus for haulage of the ore will be on the buyer to organise and pay for with their own ISK. With compressed ore this will always be the case or you don't deal with them. You have to be tough.

Personally if it's not 1-1.5 million a jump. I don't even consider it, unless it's on the way and I got extra room. With 900k of ore...that doesn't happen.
Remember, haulers are in it for the isk. Unless you make it worth their time, Your contact will likely be passed over outside if extenuating circumstances. |

Can you find any wormholes? You can usually find one that's empty that you can use to travel |

You may want to consider starting a 1 man Corp. Putting up a small pos and compression array. Suddenly that 900k m3 is only 9000 m3s. Much easier to transport in a miasmos. Take it down right after and you'll have only spent a few fuel blocks to save you a 17 trips.
Note you are now very profitable to fall. So don't autopilot, hope your tanked up and good luck. |
