I have a crusader with mwd 2 fitted, 2 inertia stabalizers, nano and a overdrive.
Only cap use is fromt he mwd.
now, i set it off in a line with mwd on, the ca runs down and out. let it recharge to abotu 20% turn mwd back on and the cap starts to recharge, gets to abotu 50% then runs down again.
runs out and i let go to 20% ish, turn on mwd and it runs out straight away again.
Let it recharge to abotu 55%, turn mwd back on, it recharges to about 90% for a while, then starts to run down again and has now run out again.
What the hell is goign on with the cap recharge rate, it seems to be fluctuating wildly.

Cap (and shield recharge) recharge isn't linear. It is pretty low when the cap's below 15% and above 60%. It has a peak at a bit more than 20%.
The client often has problems updating the cap levels when there's any lag or packet loss between you and the server. As client and server check the cap level independently, you run into cap problems easily under those conditions. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

This isn't the old cap UI bug, is it? Where you suddenly get the message "Out of cap" and your modules turn off, even tho the cap displays as 30% full.
If it is, then its old news, unfortunately. I have bug reported several times, but it keeps popping up.
Do you still run out of cap UI wise?

Oh, no! The EVE universe itself discovered how powerful NOS is these days and is using some sort of area effecting stealth weapon to suck cap out of every ship flying in space, accumlutating it to a point where it has enough power to release some kind of uber dimensional super weapon...
Or... it's just a bug

Actually this can also be caused by lag as i've seen my tanks perform differently depending on how much lag is present at any given time. ---

Sounds to me like you have poor cap skills. And poor nav skills.
MWD doesn't take cap uniformly from your ship. It takes a bunch of cap, then you recharge a bit, then it takes another lump... if the lumps are more than the amount of cap you regen between cycles you run out of cap.
Or, are you seeing something else happening?
