Am I going mad? (don't answer that).
I had it working about 6 months ago on a different system, similar setup.
WIne 1.7.43 staging, all the correct dependencies via winetricks.
I install the online msi through 'wine start EVE_blabla.msi' which works, it immediately opens the launcher but nothing downloads.. weird, I think to myself.
I run the repair tool (boo, breaks more than it repairs) and then that prompts it to download some assets (about 300mb).
If I fiddle around with repairing it will then try to download 8gb worth of updates (is that correct for patches now?) - but when I run it, it just can't connect to the server (as if it has the wrong version).
What's going on here..? |

Well, for starters, can you even connect to the server? Maybe you have some networking problems?
Try nc 87.237.38.200 26000
Does it even connect?
Also, I'm not sure repair.exe is even relevant post-DoD. |

Yeah i'd heard repair can be a bit dodgy..
On netcat I get a connection refused, however I can access that webpage with all the info.
What's weird is that it managed to download 8GB of *something* (I'll assume patches) once, but even then I'd get the connection error when using exefile. So I started from scratch again and now I can't even get the patches..
I've got all the recommended packages for wine too. |

Strange, personally I can netcat to the server just fine, and it gives me some invitation prompt.
Nevertheless, maybe try launching from command line and posting the output? Or maybe even screenshot the launcher window while we're at it? |

Thanks for your help.
After some messing around, I determined it was down to my ISP (it was).
All sorted now! |
