Did a Forum search but came up empty. Does Eve support AMD X-Fire, or whatever that nVidia one is called? |

I'm not 100% certain on this however while I'd bet that there are things a game designer could do to make more efficient use of crossfire or SLI I think that in as far as supporting or not supporting I think that is mostly a hardware and OS / driver related thing. That being said I have run Eve on 2 video cards in the past. My current motherboard is an SLI motherboard and I used to run dual GTX 280s back in the day. I've since forgone those for one GTX 680 which is what I am currently running. So from experience I can say it works. |

I am not too sure because when I look at Graphics in the set-up/preferences it only lists one of the cards I am presently using. I will check the AMD site and see if they list Eve there. Thank you.

Support for a specific card(s) is not required because DirectX.
Anything post-XP should work fine: DirectX 9 (circa 2003, XP era) & DirectX 11 (current, circa 2009, Windows 7+). You may have to change a launcher setting to force DirectX 9 with some cards.
Nvidia SLI (Scalable Link Interface) works fine. |

I see.
It is hard for me to know whether X-Fire is actually working while ingame. I was expecting higher FPS. Currently, with all graphics settings on High I get 60fps. My Heaven scores avg are over 100fps maxing at 210. Is this typical framerate for SLI/X-Fire platforms?
Just for extra info: i7 4820k Asus X-79 Deluxe 32GB Dominator Platinum 1866 CL 9 Sapphire 7950 3Gb w Boost X 2 Samsung 850Pro SSD Windows 8.1
I did set up an Optimization Profile for Eve in the AMD Gaming Evolved App but still unclear as to whether I am getting max performance.
Thank you for the help.

LCD monitors are 60 Hz (actually 60 / 1.001 = ~59.94), so you'll never get more than that.
Of course some cards will render more than that, and throw away the extra. Some might even be able to do additional smoothing with the extra frames, but you still get 60 out.
If you want to heat your office, in the ESC menu for Display & Graphics, set the interval to "immediate" to render as fast as possible. |

Not entirely true. You do get monitors with higher refresh rates. Which can be handy for some 3d effects, when you have the active glasses (which flicker the lenses, so you split the refresh rate between the two eyes.)
Eve defaults to using vsync, so you'll normally cap out at the monitor refresh rate, and often sit just below it. Which is fine in most cases. (gas clouds are known to be bad).
I'm running a single 660ti, and it's capable of rendering 3 clients at max settings, at the same time (3 1920x1080 screens) generally sitting at 60fps or so.
Eve's not that demanding, graphically.

EVE likely has partial support for SLI/X-FIRE if it has full support or not would take a good bit of digging. The SLI/X-FIRE support is largely driver based. If you are using an X-FIRE setup I strongly suggest making sure you always have up to date drivers. The way I would test and see if you gain or lose performance with X-FIRE (rarely and only a few games have lost performance wich gets patched eventually via updates to drivers) Would be to test the frame rate with 1 then test it again with 2 (you can disable a GPU not sure how to do it on an AMD machine since I do not have one but should be a quick google search to do so) |
