For the past few weeks i have been writing this thingy and by now it's mature enough to go public and was also sanctioned by the owner of eve-central.com, so here goes, an advanced interface to the data collected by eve-central.com :)
It imitates the ingame market window on the left side, with a tree-view and a search-tab. You can also click the blue I for extra info on the item when ingame. When you click the little plus it adds the item to the analyzer on the right side. The analyzer downloads the item's market data from eve-central.com and mangles the numbers a bit to give more useful informations. Above the analyzer are selectors for different locations that can be used to filter the results. Also, all informations needed to replicate the info on the page you are currently viewing is stored in the url. So to return to it you can simply bookmark it and you can also share urls. :)
A few things of note: - It is meant to work ingame and visually designed for it, but works fine oog too. Doesn't look quite as nice tho. - Sometimes when eve-central is really slow or a request takes a lot of time the ingame browser throws a "HTTP: -1" error. when that happens just refresh a few times and make sure eve-central is online at that time. - The data the analyzer records is stored for 10 minutes in order to minimize load on eve-central and also to speed-up requests. (Should i increase the timeout of the cache?) - It uses an almost unfiltered database export of Eve and thus shows a lot of items that are not available on the normal market. Trying to add them to the analyzer generates an error, just click "Back" if that happens.
My questions now are: Are there any things i missed? Features that would need to be added? Bugs that i didn't find? Instances where it simply behaves weird or differently than you would ahve expected? Please tell me if you can answer any of these. :)
Plans for the future: - Usage-Statistics for EC-Uploaders - Favourites tab - Display of the five cheapest/best sell/buy offers - display of the five closest buy/sell offers
Now, as a thanks for reading through my blabbering, the url to it. :)

Very nice!
Although it looks to me like you could use a lot more market reports, especially from hubs like Rens, Jita, and Oursulaert, otherwise Empire prices are not really going to reflect reality.
Are there any perks for those people who take the time to feed the server with market data? It might be good to have some kind of incentive. I also think you could charge some isk for this service if you wanted to.

Erm, what i did was only to write an interface. All data on my site is gained from eve-central.com, which is written by an entirely different player. ^^ As for incentives, i can't really think of any. If you have them you'd probably want to talk with Kaladr about them, as it's his site. Regarding ISK: Granted, i put in many hours, probably in the realm of 150+, but i didn't do it to get rich, but to make a site that is useful to people. :) (I won't say no to donations though. ;))

Oh, sorry. I assumed you were associated with the Eve-Central guy in some way. I think the trader community would really appreciate if the two of you joined forces.
Now, to something completely different: I would need someone to put together a web-based production/sales utility for my corp, and you seem to have the skills needed for that. It would preferrably work in the ingame browser and run from an inexpensive MySQL-based hosting account. We would pay in isk for development and maintenance. Let me know ingame if you would be interested in this sort of thing. I'd estimate it would take 50-100 hours to develop the application, and then 5-10 hours per month in support/maintenance.
(I'd send this proposal as a private mail rather that via a public forum if I thought I'd remember it )

yea, i'd be interested in this. :) (not because of the isk though :P)
i'll be out of town for the next 15 hours and have a translation project this weekend, but i'll try to be around ingame in the evening hours, german timezone. (gmt+1)
i may already have part of what you need, so do try to register and login ingame and check out the add order/browse market parts. :)

FYI: Your search function is just slightly open to a denial of service attack.
