Could use some help on a topic.
Bought a char. Paid 45b for it. Char transfer initiated. Seller forgot to transfer the isk. On the char it seems theres more then 45b.
What happens to the isk? Can I keep it? Or do I have to give the seller the 45b and keep the rest? Or do I give it all back?
Reac the EULA, read the char sale subforums, but cant really find anything on that topic....

Uhm...no, you do not get to keep it. It's probably confusion on someone's part, or an oversight. CCP will straighten it out. Don't become attached to it. There's a forum section for this, and the instructions tell you what to do in such a case as this.

I read the topic and it refers to the "isk received" in the char transfer.
what about the isk that was not included in the trade process? The regular wallet balance? I recall everything that you leave on the account belongs to the new owner? |

What will probably happen is the seller will petition CCP that there was a scam (even if it's his fault for forgetting to transfer the ISK away), and CCP will reverse the transaction.
Since you don't know who the seller's other characters are, so you can give them the ISK back yourself, you should petition CCP and have them deliver the ISK to the seller for you.
Because otherwise they'll likely take away the character / just reverse the character transfer, and then you have to go through the whole thing again. |

Theres a forum trace of the sale + exchange of mails + screenshots + wallet journals
The dollar / euros exchange you suggested does not make sense. Especially if one party is crying about the isk and Im snickering about the potential Lotto win I might experience :) Plus char went from his account to my account.
The real money thing makes sense if you are buying an account via some chinese / lebanese website that also sells, besides EVE stuff, kitchen appliances and garden decorations.
Again, no scam took place, theres convo logs which can be read by CCP. Player sent me his char, after a purchase with isk. He sent me the char with the isk which was used for the purchase and the isk which was already in his wallet.
Now according EULA, theres a slight misinterpretation of the following: "........isk received....."
I understand I should give back the isk which was used for the purchase the char. Whats unclear to me is the money which was already in the wallet of the char BEFORE the trade even commenced. I am under the impression this is mine to keep as its clearly an item which comes along with the character. Same as the pieces of tritanium, shuttles and ibises which you get when you buy a character. Implants as well. You can disclose the fact of having implants and bigger ships, no probs there. But the peanuts never get mentioned as they are considered invaluable by the seller and are handed down to the new owner without any complaints.
I dont see why this should be different with the isk, which never played any part in the negotiations of sale (neither did the 1 x tritanium with ibis).
Character can complain, yes, but should he get it back?
1. He was careless and lazy with isk excess 2. He obviously did not want it as he should have cleaned out his char before even starting the sale. 3. He had a 10 hour transfer delay time to complain

I have had this happen many times where I forgot to move the isk. Assets they do not care about as you should have prepped the toon to sell but they will undo the transaction if you dot send him the isk. It is art of the sale people make oopsies. For the record they will send him all of the isk on the account. So you might want to just send it to him.
PS. I have bought an 8 mil sp toon with 74 mil Lp on it and I have bought a hauler that was used to pull down a large reaction chain they forgot about, 74 large towers and fittings all already in highsec. It is nice when it happens but the isk CCP doesent play about. So might as well do it or he is gonna get the hole thing reversed and tell you do bite a fat one for being a Dbag and sell it to someone else.

Accounts are not allowed to be sold with assets of any kind besides implants - "technically" you are supposed to have zero ISK and zero assets, sitting in a pod.
Is this always the case? Of course not - but that IS the rule, because of cases just like this. Selective enforcement is just that - selective. You aren't keeping the extra ISK. Just petition CCP to transfer it back to him and move on with your life. |

I don't think you'll get a dev reply, they just don't handle such issues in the forums.
I think the only way you'll get an official reply is if you petition the issue.
Or, you can just go about your business and see what happens, see if the other guy makes a petition. I think he will, because, well what would you do if you'd just lost a character AND 45B, because of your own mistake or you were drunk or whatever? The "no scam" rules allow him a petition to get his stuff back.
So, yes you're right and you even have the screenshots and proof, and despite all that, odds are that you won't get to keep the character and/or all that ISK. |

If anything has gone wrong with a character transfer, be it the wrong character was sent, isk went to the wrong place, etc, file a petition. Link the thread in question in the petition. Give them as much info as possible to get your issue resolved. Good luck!

Quote:Q. My character has ships and ISK still in their hangar and wallet. Can I put it up for sale still? A. Of course, just please remove these items before transfer and do not calculate them into the price of the character. Be careful because all items will remain with the character upon transfer.
My interpretation is that if you mess up you lose your stuff. I don't think they would say "be careful" if they just give your stuff back.
Petition to be sure but I hope you get to keep the ISK |

Coulda sworn any isk or assets on a transferred character get dumped into that account's redemption queue.....
Pretty sure I had a few things on my other account's "redeemable items" from when I sold Saiyuki Harada, a couple months ago (and I hope her new user is enjoying that toon).

You already know the answer don't you?
And it's easy to see the alts of ex owner. Check the wallet logs, those hundred millions transaction to the same names which made more than sevral times as well as priv contract history where the stuff contracted with zero value. If he forgot to transfer iskies high chances he didn't clear contacts history, so those with excelent standings should cross match with wallet/priv contracts dudes. |

^ This is the correct answer. You can bypass all of this by simply contacting the person, telling them you are returning their ISK and doing so, then posting on the forum sale thread to confirm. If you wait for them to petition and a GM reverses it they may do so after you've transferred the ISK to another account which will set your wallet into negative.
