Why do you think??? You don't pay, you don't train. It's simple no? I don't know why that was even possible before!
Are you trying to tell us that you would train some level 5 skill while on vacation after disabling your account so you don't get billed?
And you're complaining they do that??

WHY!?
If this is correct, I think it is a very good move.
Why should ppl who do not pay get skillpoints for free? I heard about ppl who deactivate their accounts for a month or two to save some cash, but first they set long time training skills, and come back to like Battleship level 5 or carrier skills etc. Its also unfair against the players who pay.
You want the skill? then you have to pay for it. Fair is fair after all.

Will cost you about 200m more per 2 months per capital ship account now. A drop in the ocean for most eve players.
But the real fun part is: at least what they spent their time on instead of fixing the billions of bugs and small issues around ...
Originally by: Sean Drake So does this mean we will get the time reimbursed when things go **** up and we cannot play??
If you played eve for more then one patch, you should know that things only ever change for the worse ...

I think this kinda sucks I allways thought training on the few occasions I was not paying made up for all the times I was paying and not being able to play due to:
lag, patch days that kill the server till the post patch patch hotfix is released, random ctd's,node deaths caused by pos assaults, random node deaths, node deaths caused by jita, node deaths caused by looking at your screen funny while the stars are in a certain alignment on a day which ends in a letter Y,the monthly random and unexplainable server death, the surprise hotfixes which brake more than they fix causing ctd's random node and server death and other random wackyness, the time spent playing with your **** in a gate que in an empty system and the time spent watching a black screen waiting to log back in after a node death and this is just the stuff i can think of off the top of my head I know I have missed some of the more exotic ones but you get the idea.
So does this mean we will get the time reimbursed when things go **** up and we cannot play??

Read the EULA. CCP could have the servers up for 1 Hour a day max, we agree to this:
While it's **** annoying when things happen and we cannot play for no fault of the players it's what we agree to everytime we load the client.

Skills were not intended to continue training after the deactivation of a subscription or expiration of a trial account. A large number of players from Tranquility and Serenity were abusing this bug by leapfrogging skills and only paying for an account to change long duration skills. In short, this is a fix for a long-standing bug with skill training.

They should sneak in a passage that allows them to burn you alive if you "agree to it every time you load the client". Id like to see your reaction then.

Only if you load the client before me. Say what you will it's the EULA, both you and me agree to it. If you don't agree with it... You can quit at any time.

I dont know with what law system you are familiar with, but contracts involving ultimate customers have little meaning if they contain stuff that is considered "indecent" or "unexpected" in some places, for example parts of europe. Arguments like "you agreed to the EULA" are null and void anyway, because they are a sign of fanatical, inhuman faith in higher authority (also called fanboism when related to games, and a lot of bad words when not). Some things are not enforcable by contract. For example, if the EULA says that its forbidden to sell ISK, and a court decides that its perfectly fine to sell virtual money - well, thats the way of the world. Of course, companies still have legions of lawyers that will find laws from 1838 that make it illegal to use the word "****" and threaten to sue you for talking about a certain amarr ship - but thats RL balance...
Oh and on topic: It may backfire, since people who cancel not always burn all bridges . Now there is one little incentive less to come back - and one little incentive less to start yet another capital ship account.

Can't say I know any law system in ref to EULA and RL ability to uphold it, However, It's CCP's game, they make the rules. If I don't agree with them rules I don't play there game. I'm not attacking you or anyone personaly...please don't think I am (if you do) I'm just saying that CCP can do what they like and we as players can't really to anything about it... the only power we have is the choice to play or not.
EDIT: By loading the client you agree to play by the rules that CCP say.

I can see why it was changed, on the other hand setting a long skill and going inactive gave people a nice incentive to return to EVE one day.. That is lost now. *shrug*

I should like an earlier reference to this being a bug, as opposed to a feature, otherwise this statement is nothing more than a blatant lie.
