All I'm wondering is, basically, will there be different races for the structures?
We've got Caldari and Gallente and Amarr and Minmatar and even faction PoS towers. But when these new structures get released, will they all be the same skin? That would be incredibly boring.
Please consider not whitewashing stuff with all the same look. Let us have our diversity. Maybe not so much for industrial rigs like drilling platforms and factories and observation arrays (don't get me wrong though, I would love love LOVE race specific skins for those too), but things like the market hubs and corporate hubs would be incredibly boring after a while, cause if you've seen one you've seen them all. |

So it seems CCP have had some thoughts around that.

If you read this blog and this blog, structures will be manufactured from blueprints by players, will have unique looks, and will probably be dis-associated with the 4 empires, though there will be different (tech level) versions, as mentioned above. |

... Because 4 empire variations + 4 pirate variations = 8 "flavors" is sufficient to provide "the unique look" to the 5000 solar system map and the 300k+ players.
EDIT: On a less sarcastic note, I think CCP's plan is to allow painting your stations and structures with SKIN colors, thereby achieving the "uniqueness." You can paint yellow, the neighbors can paint blue, and so on. |

Skins for our stations would be neat, but I'd just kinda like something more visually different. |

I don't know much about structures, but it seems that they're already chosen based on function rather than race / look. Want to do invention and research? Caldari tower. And that's where the new structures seem to be headed. Variation on function rather than race. |

What it really means is you aren't limited to making structures in multiples of 4 in order to be fair or balanced. I imagine they'll still follow themes and such, but it won't have the words "amarr industrial outpost" on it, even if it has golden plates. |

Those numbers are a little off. Some of those roles will be combined and split (see citadels) and there's doesn't appear to be a small version for each if I understand correctly. |
