We know that Warping requires two fixed points in space, the ship and another location. Even though the ship is moving faster than the speed of light locations on the overview are still the second location.
I suggest that a module be created that when fit into medium slot would allow the ship to change direction while warping. The module would have a 20% chance of success up to level five where 100% direction of travel is achieved.
The lower the skill rating would place the ship within a distance of the selected object that would be 80%, 60%, 40% or 20% of the distance between the initial warp point and location point.
For example if a pilot was warping to a planet that was 100,000,000 km in distance and wanted to change direction to a new location while warping and only had the skill trained to level three then a 40% chance of emerging at the location at the desired warp to distance. The distance that the ship would emerge at the intended location would be 40,000,000 km. |

no, catching people is already a pain, with such a module it would be even worse. |

Emergency Warp drop is better option. But it must have some downsides like damaging ship structure , or modules because of extreme heat.

I would accept this only if the structural stresses produced by the course change ripped the ship to shreds spreading it and the pilot across the system in a thin layer.

Thank you Dryson, you have shown us that mankind is not ready for FTL travel yet. I guess I'll just take a nap then. Someone wake me up in 300 years??

Howabout a warp destination scrambler? It could be a passive module that causes you to always come out of warp in a random position anywhere within 100km of your destination spot, rather than on top of it. It would make running gates slower, but it would likely be a lot easier to avoid a gate camp because you might land just about anywhere. As an added bonus, it could also offer drag bubble protection, making it so bubbles can't alter where you land.
Give me a top hat.

Let's also add CONCORD to gates and stations on nullsec, hell even sov null, while we're at it. Those places need to be a lot safer. |
