I know its a bit early but has anyone done a 100 v 100 post-patch fight to check out how good the optimizations were?

I was navigating with a fleet of over 50 pilots and got pretty bad lag. short periods of screen being frozen but no module delays.

People still use Safespot bm's. 10x BM's for 100 systems is 1000 bm's. We need a warp to a random location button to get rid of safespots as well.

Bookmarks make 0 lag if stored client side in a text file. For some reason devs don't want us to be able to (out of game) copy bookmarks around...

No, they don't give you client-side access because then you would be able to create REALLY deep safespots, which would really be a big exploit.
Even if you have it extremely locked via various encryption methocs ect, people will still be able to open is as everything that can be locked, can be unlocked. _______

I passed through a fight of about 60 people and the lag didn't seem too bad. Certainly a lot better than before.

If they are worried about safespots that are super deep, limit all safespots to be within say 20au of an object.
Honestly, how far does the map go past all the objects? I don't think it goes 500 AU in every direction, prolly more like 25 au... or the size of the map window. So it's not like you could get that deep of a safespot.

Still to soon to reach any conclusions. Yesterday my client was running very smoothly.
I deleted all my bms yesterday before downtime. Curiously a lot of corp m8's complaining about lag, frozen screens, still had their bms ( even if they werent able to reach their people and places folder to delete them all ), and the ones not complaining already deleted the bms.
Maybe coincidence, maybe not, time will tell.

That's slightly annoying. A pain would be if you where ganged warped by a freighter and you have "Warp Drive Operation" trained to level 5.

1. dual core 4tl 2. i haven't deleted any bookmark(10k+, probably 30k) and I don't have any problems. Will delete them when i'm certain that deleting them won't cause troubles like 90% of my friends 3. installing new client 4tl 4. login times are retarded.
-------- The BoB model is bad for business. Incidently the BoB model is more suited for a game such as WoW where as the ASCN model more suited for Eve.

This is fairly serious for major alliances. The ability to have decent sized fleet battles MUST be made possible once again. The fleet battle aspect of the game was much better a whole 3 years ago, I know a lot has changed since then, but the price has been that fleet situations on a large scare are rarely conclusive, often decided by who can co-ordinate a login to the best effect as the other side trickle back into the game after the now disturbingly common "node crash"
These "node crashes" are all to common now, and it's undermining the efforts made by alliances to defend their space against attackers.
We just want to be able to play the game the way it was designed to be played. I for one am getting fed up of the rule book going out of the window and instead having to adjust our game play to accommodate the completely unreliable servers.
Many veteran players have left & will leave the game if this is not addressed.

Unlike the test server not everyone's BMS got deleted . Some got deleted and some ppl didnt so there is a large number of players who still have the 8 k bms who are under 40km from an object and that will still create lag imo. The rest of the other issues i think it had improved tremdously , docking in a staion takes less than 1 sec now , almost instantly. Session change has improved a ton for me after i deleted all my BMS and that was in empire packed space. "There is no such thing as innocence , only different degrees of guilt"

Edited by: HatePeace LoveWar on 30/11/2006 12:07:19 CCP should have deleted all BM's, ofc giving a 2 weeks warning b4 hand.
CCP want large fleet battles to happen, i asked that at Fanfest and the dev was adamant they want it, just as we want it.
They just can't get it to work and i appreciate that, but what is fustrating is the lack of documentation into the steps being taken as to how to improve the situation (could be im looking in the wrong place?!), but as of yet ive not seen many serious discussions from ccp about the server issues, just random posts about new blade servers being introduced (im being sincere here, if its my own ignorance that has overlooked any of this documentation then please someone point it out).
At this point i must be honest and admit if it wasnt for the people in this game, the friends ive made in corp etc. i would no longer be here as i got sick of trying to pvp in epic battles just before i left atuk.

I also removed all of my BMs prior to the patch and I have not seen too many issues with my client. I was running two clients last night traveling through systems. Normally, I would get a bit of choppiness, there was none last night and both jumped through at the same time at every gate.

Actually it goes infinitely in all directions. I've been over 1000AU from the star before. Map shows you as being in the next system (or constellation) over but you're not. - - - These elite slaves are exceptionally well suited for physical labor. |

Large fleet engagement: results->
starting to warp, receiving "cancel warp" command, stopping the ship 10 times, nothing happens, arriving to gate, gate clear, receiving "ship stopping" messages, ship starting to die, trying to warp out, ship dies, still no enemy on overview, see my ship with 1/2 modules in it, wallet blinking for insurance, still no enemy at gate and no warp out, relogging to find myself in a pod.
Very nice fleet battle, that new hardware really helped

I loaded, but could only see my gang mates.
I eventually loaded the whole grid but only after about 5-10 mins - I couldn't fire my weapons though and didn't geta shot off for the whole engagement.
So how much does it cost to get a 100mb LAN extension directly into the server cluster?

We just had a massive fight in AZN. Or according to BoBs killboard we did.
Warp in and nothing. Wait, wait, wait, wait, oh look overview fills.
Right, lets go then. Try to lock, Try to lock, Try to lock, try to activate, try to activate, nothing happening, OK< try to align try to align, nothing, try to move screen, nothing.
Game freezes up completely and crashes. According to BoBs killboard I lost my T2 fitted BS, not checked yet if pod as well.
The node did not crash but other than that I would say it was the worst and most lagged out fleet battle I have ever been in and there were some fighters but practically no drones out.
Revelations has done nothing to improve major fleet battle lag and I have pretty much had my fill of this amatuerish game.
