As of 2006.11.26 21:48, CSYN operatives have been authorised to open fire on all Lotka Volterra personnel and materiel in all sectors of space. This termination of NAP agreements comes as a direct result of disagreements over reimbursement arrangements following the destruction of a CSYN Deimos-class HAC by Lotka Volterra pilots. Failure to respond to the reimbursement claims filed by CSYN High Command resulted in standings being revoked and a 24 hour grace period getting implemented, as is customary for us when renegotiating inter-organizational treaties. At the time mentioned above, LV agression voided the grace period, and we find ourselves presented with previous friends and allies as valid targets.
The underlying reason behind the decision to revoke standings, however, lies deeper than simple disagreements over ISK. More than anything, this is a declaration of independence- a simple way of stating that CSYN will not allow its foreign or domestic policies to be dictated by a big neighbour. The negligence expressed by LV officials in interactions with CSYN has made it apparent to us that unless a greater degree of humility and responsibility becomes present in LV leadership, remaining in a NAP agreements will void any real autonomy we might have without giving any guarantees against future ****ups. Obviously, this is not a situation acceptable to CSYN High Command.
The future implications of this incident for CSYN foreign policy are not clear yet. Standings towards alliances considered to be LV satellites, including Miners With Attitude, Distant Star Alliance and Caldari Deep Space Industrial, have been revoked along with LV. All other standings are unaffected as of now, and if any corporations or alliances CSYN maintains positive standings with have any questions or inquiries, weĈd like them to be directed into the Coreli Core channel where CSYN officials will do their best to handle incoming requests.
As a final statement, it should be noted that this does not change our commitment to see Red Alliance, the Goons, TCF or any lapdogs of the above mentioned alliances driven out of our home in Curse and away from zerosec space altogether. Our struggle against these malign entities will continue unabated in spite of any changes in the diplomatic situation that might result from this incident.
As always, CSYN will remain an amicable negotiations partner should LV decide to treat us with the recognition of a fellow alliance. The moment LV officials can show a grain of humility and respect, we will be honoured to resume talks about the future relationship between our two alliances.
That will be all. -----

Well it's my understanding that if you NAP another entity that means no firing, right? If the pact is broken and the offending party refuses to make amends, well what else would you expect?

Yes, but we don't allow NAP status to be dictated by the actions of individual LV members. If there is a problem, the pilots in question are removed from the equasion while the high ranking alliance members work it out.
Simple as that.

I would also like to urge CSYN members not to aggresively seek kills against LV or LV allied alliances until this matter, which essentially seems to have been caused by a friendly fire incident, and then a few brused ego's.
Attacking LV + Allies before I have had chance to look further into this situation will do nothing but damage the prospects of peace in the future.
I sincerely hope that you will hold back the dogs, while this matter is looked into by myself and others within LV.
As for demonstrations of LV humility, well I hope that my words have at least gone some way towards demonstrating what LV is all about.

Chowdown and The Enslaver were contacted about this matter and we were told no reimbursment would be forthcoming. --------------

We have lost battleships to Corelli Pilots in Curse despite being Blue, and were told no compensation would be forthcoming. Friendly fire sucks, but it happens. Hopefully the Diplomats can sort things out. Everyone's Favorite Canadian

You where not blue to us at the time, nor did you ever request standings before the shooting. Theres a difference between not asking and being ignored.
This issue isn't about the ship loss itself, its about the events that lead to the loss. We where told to request standings on LV's communications net, which was ignored, we did however get a list of alliances and corps we should set positive standings towards. We don't have a problem with not shooting allies of our allies if they ask us not do so, we do have a problem if our own requests are being ignored at the same time.
We have no interest in hunting down or shooting LV and were not going to put any effort into that. We do however operate on an NBSI policy so any LV ship coming into our home system will run the risk of getting shot. -----

Well, AFAIK, the alliance will by no means be hunting LV in any regard, we have TCF for that, but if we see you, we will shoot you. So don't expect CSYN raidings parties into your regoin.

first off...it's very true...we were content being friends with LV before the mishap. A new opportunity arose for us while Goons/RA and whoever else are all over you. Second...free ride? popular bandwagon? Thank the MC/FIX conflict for that. I don't think we've had a free ride by any means....if anything LV has had more of a free ride and my own opinion is that RA/Goons are calling you on it...
