I'm downloading them now, but realtek's site is stupidly slow, only 19 kb/s. The drivers are 22 mb.. COME ON! I hope this works...

Since I have got the R196 I no longer experienced any BSOD.
(I never BSOD when clicking armor rep or anything, but I was BSOD'ing at random intervals, from few hours, to few days, and I have observed this only happend when I had EVE open.)
So yea, go ahead and download the latest drives.

I have the eVGA Nforce 780i SLi board with the Realtek Hd Audio built into it.
I use to have major issues with random BSOD when the sound is on and I have been playing for the better part of my time with sound off and that gets really boring.
Last drivers that it happened to me was 1.90. I updated 2.01 today and played with sound on and finally I could play for more than an hour.
I have been going strong for 4 hours with no BSOD.

Well I am so happy I have found this thread. What a crock... Eve has been fine since0 I first started playing, however I updated my PC about 4 months ago with new mobo, graphics and DDR2 (2gb) and used the remaining bits I had from my last setup, unfortunately at at some point around the last major patch day about 4 weeks ago my sound card decided to stop working so I just pulled it out and started useing the onboard Realtek sound instead. Now I should point out that I have not played Eve with sound settings on, in the ingame menu for longer than I can remember. But now I get Blue screen and memory dump about 1 in 20 jumps through a gate. I did a complete reinstall and Fdisk format of my HD and reinstalled all of my software and updated all the drivers in a labour intensive pain in the proverbial rear that took the best part of a day. Reinstalled the client only after making sure that the puter worked perfect with some of my other games, and.... blue screen memory dump after about 1 in 20 gate jumps, same crap new day I thought. so now I am going to go into my settings and turn the sound off on my pc completely and try the game again, if it works and many seem to say it does, then I am really puzzled as to why turning the sound off in game does not work on my system?
I'll let you all know in the next few hours.

Well I have to say I am gazumped on this... I did turn off the realtek via "My Setting etc" as the first post says. and then flew around for fun for an hour or so just warping and jumping, even went to Jita and to Hek, no problems at all. So I dunno why, but I thought to myself what will happen if I turn sound back on via the ingame Menu, I did this and to my utter disbelief, the game still works fine with sound on, been through 200 plus gates now and no blue screen memory dump. I really do not understand why turning sound off in My Settings and then back on ingame would or should make a differance, what can I say. well as I said earlier, I never play with sound on so its getting switched off again now but maybe if there is someone that is still haveing problems out there this may be a fix for them as well.
