being active on the forums, sharing ideas and solutions is generally a lot of fun, but the problem is that its not a very dynamic communication between ccp and the community, like a one way street, in most cases.
im suggesting a contest that rewards good ideas with prizes. its a way of giving the community the tools to do a better job with our presentations and to do a better job at following current trends.
this is a platform that highlights the best and brightest of us so we can be inspired by our own community members and their exciting appraised work. raising our standards and our goals for a chance to win. |

Because they choose not to respond to most posts does not mean that they do not read them, so I am wondering how is it that you know CCP employees do not read many or most of these posts?
Setting that aside I want the devs working on game issues when they are at work, and when they are at home on THEIR time I want them to be doing what THEY want to do, not reading these forums simply because you think they should be better at doing so.
Last for me here is the old adage of lose lips sink ships. It would be very easy for a dev that was highly involved in a discussion on these forums to hint at or let out information that should not be made public. |

Suggest something that isn't bat **** crazy and the devs will likely see it, if it's actually a fairly good idea it might influence one of the design teams and make it into the game in one form or another, that should be reward enough imo

Have you considered bringing up your suggestions to CSM members? |

dont know much about csm myself. but i do wonder if it would make sense for csm members to be judges of a contest of this kind. |

Suggestion is totally unnecessary. Devs do, in fact, read the forums.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.
I couldn't have said it better.

here is a short xprize commercial for a small competition https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Dd6ykMqYwhI
i could be wrong but i suspect giving out prestegious awards can help bridge the gap between politics and innovation in eve, because politics are not very accessible/intuitive to a lot of us yet, but innovation on the other hand is something that is very intuitive for all of us. |

I do believe they read what we write.
Conincidence or not, remember the drone overhaul where Amarr got usefull drones for the first time? A year before that I suggested to give light, medium and heavy drones longer falloffs so they can shoot earlier.
Prior to my post I talked about this with someone (I won't tell who) on SiSi about this and he liked it and told me to make a post here in which I got various responses.
Anyhow a year later and now I have to apologize but the drone damage amplifier wasn't my idea and I left sentries out of it.

Thats not at all what I meant.
The devs do read the forums. There are a number of game mechanics and ship changes that have come directly from the forums.
There is no need for any sort of contest.
If you want feedback for your ideas then you should take them to the CSM, if they like it they will let you know AND pass ot along to CCP.
If, on the otherhand, you are a sperglord they will let you know that... so you have a heads up before ship toasting on the forums about things like player submitted development contests.
Alternatively, you could learn more about the CSM and its process, vote well and do your best to trust them to have our interests in mind when letting CCP know that thier ideas are bad.

CCP have to appear to give a damn about us and at the same time they need to appear to not give a damn about us.
It is such a tricky position to be in it seems to me like they could implode on themselves because of some weird planck physics properties.

Granted, it was somewhat based on already existing FW system and chances are FW was testing grounds for new sov, but still.
That is just one example, but huge one.
