Well here is what bothers me. In electronic warfare we have 3 schools. Jammers, Tracking disruptors and Sensor Dampeners.
So what do I know? I know what each of them does on paper. But how good are they in combat?
Well jammers do sound great - not being attacked by your enemy - but from what I see they: 1)can fail quite easy 2)they have countermeasures (ECCM) 3)have to be pre-chosen (focuse on one race) unless you use multispectrum 4)are very power hungry.
So hows about Tracking disruptors? Well from what I see they are pretty good. Makes you harder to hit and: 1)have good range 2)are not race specific 3)are NOT power hungry. Perhaps I am missing something but these look great.
And then we have Sensor dampeners. Ok - I confess that I dont fully get these. Reduces the speed and range at which the enemy target can lock on you? Does that mean that they are the oposite of disruptors? While you use disruptors for short range you use dampeners for long range combat?
Well the question I have for all of you is ... what are your thoughts on these?
And BONUS question: 1)Whats the deal with burst ECM? Are they any good?
Well - thats it from me. Looking foward to your input.

Dampners increase locking time and decrease locking range. You could say its "long range" combat. For example two tech II dampners with avarage skills on celestis can get every frigs, cruisers and battlecruisers locking range under 10km.

Bit of a bump in hopes of getting some more replies?

Sensor Dampeners can also be quite good on a Domi. High nos, mid sensor dampeners. With that, it will take close to forever before they can lock on a drone. And with the reduced locking range they are forced to get into Nos range.

I never used tracking disruptors myself but I know they only work for turrets, so missiles, nos and webbers will still hit you.
As for the bonus question I never used em either :)
