Then people don't have to get worked up about how many bonuses they have at one time that are not being used and such. I like how this got no replies. Added a section to OP about the guns.

Because the t3d mode gimmick can be exploited and isnt necessary to fix BCs.
I suspect you want the cyclone to have turrets so it can use dual 180s to fit x2 XLASB without a crapton of fitting mods. Which could be fun.
Minmatar versatility is more in the fitting and flexability of the ship itself. Not its bonuses
Example: Hurricane
Can be fit with 720s, MWD and kite around popping ships
Can be fit 425 acs and shield tank with lows filled with TE, gyros and nanos
Can be fit with 220/180 ACs and then armor brick tanked with med neut
Can be fit with 180s, MJD, 100mn afterburner and armor tanked
The cyclone does suffer a bit from being shoehorned into only a couple roles ill admit. Its either XLASB+invuln or XLSB+CB and links to be effective. Maybe if they increased fitting and upped RoF bonus from 5% to 7.5%, it would be more managable. Making dual XLASB fits viable or giving it some needed dps to kill things before its tank is up.

I think T2 logi frigates would be used more for remote sensor boosters than their cruiser counter parts as everyone who can fly a T2 cruiser logi is desperately needed to do repairs and tank as much as possible. Well, using the Svipul as an example. With my artillery fit, and minmatar tracking bonused ammo, i have absolutely no need for the tracking bonused sub mode, or the defense mode. I can still project damage at 40km, and still get good tracking. Meanwhile still out damaging the wolf/jag with long range (low damage ammo), when the wolf/jag are using short range, high damage ammo. I don't need tank mode, because i can stay in prop mode and outpace interceptors. Not to mention, being able to 3 shot them as they burn in to get tackle.
Also, most good players will scout the area checking to see whats on grid, and most stations can be docked at (except in null). So it won't take long to dock, change modes to suit your situation, undock, and continue on destroying people.

What's the point of designing multiple mode for a ship where each mod is better covered by other ships anyway? |

But then, the ship would stay in that mode where it's not beaten. Modes are only useful if it generate a meaningfully choice. If the rail ferox is better at rail feroxing than anything else, it will be sued for rail feroxing. If it has other mods like a better blaster profile but that still get beaten by a brutix, people will use the brutix instead of swapping mode especially if they have to dock anyway. |
