I'm having a dicussion with a friend of mine. We do not agree on that it is worth the time (27 days) to train the Large AC Specialization to L5 for the extra 2% damage.
I do not think it is worth the time, he thinks it is definitly worth the extra 2% damage.
What do you all think about it? >>> Mine is Bigger than Yours ! <<< |

As with any skill it's not whether or not it's worth training to 5 - it's whether or not there's anything else which is more worthwhile. Dulce et decorum est pro imperium mori. |

If you do 1v1s and your tactics are solid, that 2% will give you the win. If you're just into ganking then there's probably better things for you to train. |

It's worth it but as was already said only if there is nothing more important to train.
I have all my favorite specs trained to 5 (sm blasters, med AC, HML, lg pulse, lg art) Is sexy time? |

As with any skill whether or not it is worth it is entirely up to the player. The player that spends 99% of their time using Large Autocannons would certainly place a much higher value on Large Autocannon Spec V compared to someone who only uses them rarely.
As such, whether or not a skill is "worth it", is entirely dependent on what a player wants to do. There is no right or wrong answer. |

My friend is a casual player - he just started to do Incursions. he is more the PvE type.
I agree to the fact that it is worth it if no better skills are needed and he needs better skills in other area.
But the moment I posted this question he chnaged his view and is now training something that will benefit him more then the 27 days in AC Spec L5 >>> Mine is Bigger than Yours ! <<< |

It takes a couple years of training time to reach the point where training weapon specs to 5 becomes the next largest increase in ship power on a general level. If you fly only one type of ship then by all means train the weapon system to 5 but most of the time other options are better. |

That 2% is worth more the higher your related gunnery skills are. If your guns are doing max damage in all other ways, then the actual dps increase of that 2% could be many times higher than what you'd get if you only had the minimum prerequisites. Consider your tracking, optimal, falloff, rate of fire, other % increases, and the quality of your guns and ammo. |

It's absolutely not worth it. Train it anyway, be a pro :)
