Edited by: zoolkhan on 07/12/2006 09:11:05 Outposts are usually built by alliances, but standings can only be set on corp level towards corporations.
Also it is also hardwired to a max of 300 standings.
Example: you want exclude services or dock right from an enemy alliance (very likely example)
You now have to set negative standings from the outpost holding corp towards every single member corporation of that enemy aliance.
also you need to keep that current and basically check every day if they got a new corp joined or left...
during outpost management -who can do what- is all depending on these standings.
YET and STILL the bloody standing management does not take into account that most actions need to be done rather on alliance level. The outpost is usually not owned by a single corp, just managed by one.
And the usual enemy, or friend in 0.0 is a alliance, not a single corp.
Can we get that fixed please? Because the above described problematic brings us close to the 300 hardwired limits of standings (negative + positive) and changing dock rights usually means erasing someones elses standings...
JOVES! your help is needed here.
Same problem go for POS management btw - your pos does not shoot the hostile alliance, it shoots only on corporations that you might have managed to set negative on a corp->corp level. Not funny.
More than once i spotted a hostile ship right outside the shield watching me through the bulleye while showering in the ammo assembly array with a exotic danser. I belong to one of the tiny alliances that manage a outpost, we hit the described problems every day and the workaround on corp level makes us also move on the 300-standing limit border all the time.
A fix/adaption to that problem is overdue gentlemen. Whom do i have to sleep with to make that happen?

Signed, POS management should also be able to be managed at the alliance level and use alliance standings.

And while we are at it... Please let the "public" selection on labs actualy be public so anyone can use it at fixed rates... Not sure if it is broken but fix the "alliance" selection aswell...

also is there a way to set ur own corp +10 from ur own corp as im trying to set up different refine rates depending on standing but my own corp recieves no discount so the only way to do it is to tax the crap out of my own corp

alliance standings are limited though. Your only able to set 4 different standings. It would help though if a corp could mark a box to take into account alliance standings as well. Letting corps set standing toward alliances would also help. But you can not treat them all as alliance owned because some outpost the owners consider them corp owned and will tweek settings different then other corps in the same alliance.
I would also like to see the ability to have an allowed or blocked list like chat channels for services. Occasionally a member of another corp or alliance, or sometimes even our own will abuse privalages at an outpost and we may want to lock them out. Also, we may only want a few people to access certain services, but block the rest.
Basically what it comes down to is both starbases and outpost need an overhaul on management.
