From what I read on the forums since Revelations hit, there appears to be 2 main bodies of opinion regarding the implications of the changes.
There's the 'I'm all right Jack, all I really care about is my wallet, and I can look after myself very well thank you, regardless of what happens, and I'd prefer that not much really changes'.
Then there's the 'We expected a lot from Revelations, and want to see the promise of a radical shift implemented, as EVE has settled into a pattern over the past couple of years, and its time to bring in much needed and evolutionary changes'.
Well, I admit I belong to the 2nd camp, although both camps play the game, and both have as much right to state their opinions as the other.
From my perspective EVE has been very stagnant for the past year or so (compared to its early days that is) which is why I cancelled for nearly a full year, and re-signed on the basis that Revelations and subsequent upgrades would radically shake up the mega alliance balance of power.
At its core is economic power, and the elitist T2 BPO monopolists, that have brought about a situation where there is a massive gap between the tiny minority of T2 users (HACs decked out with uber rare mods etc) and the vast majority of players who cannot afford to loose their primarily T1 based ships.
Revelations promised to re-balance things somewhat, and the BC buff has definately had an impact. Rigs were promised to make an even bigger impact, allowing the vast majority of players access to mods that allow a much needed added variation in ship layouts etc.
What I see KIAEddZ doing here is ranting a bit, from the perspective of someone who dos'ent need changes like these really, 'if' he is afraid of loosing a relatively privilaged position in the game. On the contrary, it seems that EddZ wants a radical shake-up to allow much more variety, competition, and uncertainty. That for me is very refreshing to see, and I'd hope that the playerbase can appreciate its in all our interests to move the game out of the rut its been in for a while now.
