Edited by: VeniVici on 10/12/2006 00:00:30 Great news about wrecks, but any word about fixing:
1) Getting flagged for looting a gang m8's wreck 2) Not being able to tractor a gang m8's wreck (the error message assures you that you cannot tractor the wreck because it does not belong to you, one of your gang m8's, or one of your corp m8's, but the wreck does belong to a gamg m8)

Will salvage be added to mercenaries, drones, and other NPC's which have nothing to salvage? And if not, can these NPC's start dropping cargo containers instead of nonsalvageable wrecks?

I like it, I like it, these multispectral probes, I'm guessing they can tell you if there is an exploration location in system? If so than thank you in advance for cutting down on the time needed for exploration.

greetings
please correct me if im wrong but the patchnotes (scanning) sounds for me like ;
"We want to make it harder to scan peoples in their missions but easier than before"
please put in mind that most mission runners wich dont want / like PvP have worked years for optimizing their skills + ships + fittings to fly missions more efficient
We all know that if there is a way to harass other players **it will be used** and if that is the intended way that CCP wants ganks & griefers disturbing us in missions im out here, looking for some game wich is broken from the beginning so i dont have to worry 'bout the future
I really hope im wrong but if that comes true i will thank you for the good work with Eve up to revelations and wish you goodbye
best regards

If the gang mate is in system and undocked you don't get flagged and you can tractor their wrecks. Still a huge pain, but at least a partial solution. ________________

Can i get a Dev to answer this?
Before the last patch, I could bid and claim contracts in space in different regions. This is broken currently.
If this is the way CCP intends on contracts working, Why can we see contracts in other regions if we cannot do anything with them?

so i read the patch notes, and I see no mention of what will happen with the tech II bpo's being re-seeded. It clearly stated in the news that they would be but now that the patch notes are out. nothing.

a) could you give some more detailed information on Scanning for Deadspaces and Mission Runners ?
b) will the Contract Search across all Universe be avail again ? at least for a specific item search ? the Contract Systems is still way of the usefullness this option was when Escrow was still in place. I see the point not having it for all items and types of contracts but for a selected group or individual item it should be possible.

Hmm...would be odd if all times this happened to me those circumstances arose. I will have to test more thoroughly, but even then can we fix it so that this whole "undocked & in system" to tractor is fixed? The flagging I can care less but the tractoring hurts when you're trying to loot.

This is a permanent endeavour I think being always on the list and remaining there as long the Cluster will run.

Originally by: Patch Notes All objects located inside deadspace (missions, exploration scenarios, etc.) are now more difficult to find with scan probes.
Some details on this would be greatly apreciated, seeing how more difficult could mean anything between gankbears now sometimes needing to probe twice to find someone and truly being an effort only for dedicated people like it used to be before Kali.
Also what about missions like 'The Blockade' and 'The right hand of Zazzmatazz'? Will those sites also be harder to scan or still open season for gankers?

The patchnotes doesn't mention if it will be possible to salvage without removing the loot. It would be nice to not get criminally flagged just for clearing the space highways from obstacles.

Edited by: Kedrich on 10/12/2006 11:21:42 Patch notes say nothing about: 1) camera zoom on your ship resets after jumping/undocking 2) filtering out "neutrals" in overview would also remove "bad" and "horrible"
Any hope to have it fixed

Could we get some more information on this please? I.e. is it still going to be practical to scan mission runners? Or are our newly available probes' capabilities nerfed to the point that we have no chance at all to find mission runners anymore?
We *just* got the ability to finally scan out mission runners in a practical manner. Now it appears that this will be removed from the game again. Will objects be more difficult to scan based on ship size? What is the increase in difficulty of finding objects in deadspace versus normal space? Is it a percentage? Is it a flat increase? Is it linear? Geometric?
Due to the chance based nature of probes as it is will it be possible to discriminate between the probe failing to pick up an object that it should, compared to not being able to due to user error? I'd hate to sit around for an hour trying to scan someone down, just to find out that the probe was simply too weak to get a valid ping, and not through any fault of my own.
Will the probe skills improve performance to a point that scanning for objects (scumbag carebear mission *****s) in deadspace will be a reliable activity? Inquiring minds want to know.

It has worked every single time for me and verified that once the preson re-undocks and/or re-enters the system I get tractoring rights again. It's a clumsy workaround but better than nothing. Not that I wouldn't like to see it fixed of course. ________________

Originally by: Patch Notes All objects located inside deadspace (missions, exploration scenarios, etc.) are now more difficult to find with scan probes.
A kind of a solution, but not a solution of the core problem. The problem is NOT that someone can scan his way to a mission space (at least in high-sec, low-sec is something else). The REAL problem is what he can DO when he gets there.
Consider the following scenarios:
- Scanner warps into mission area, shoots primary mission target, graps mission critical loot.
- Scanner warps into mission area, steals mission critical loot. Player gets aggro on scanner, but he has warped out.
- Scanner warps into mission area, aggro the whole room, warps out. Mission runner warps out or dies.
In ALL 3 of these, there is absolute NOTHING WHATSOEVER the mission runner can do to prevent it. If he shoots, he's concord'ed on the spot, and in any case, the scanner will warp out just after he's done his dirty deed, and there's ABSOLUTELY NO RISK to the scanner.
I'd class each of these 3 pure griefing since there's NOTHING you can do to prevent it, there's NOTHING you can do once its happened, and there's NOTHING you can do afterwards to mitigate the effects.
Therefore, I still think the best thing you can do, CCP, is the following: 1. Disable scanning into deadspace (and also of accel gates) completely. 2. Implement something against the 3 above scenarios. 3. Re-enable scanning into deadspace.
Otherwise, if what you want is that mission runners ARE griefable, please come straight out and say so.

Originally by: kieron balancing in system scanning of deadspace in agents/complexes (way too easy) and exploration (way too hard and easier escalation)
The patch notes, unlike the above quote, indicate that exploration will actually be more difficult (quote:"All objects located inside deadspace (missions, exploration scenarios, etc.) are now more difficult to find with scan probes.")
How do we reconcile the stated objective to make exploration easier with the patch notes that say it will become harder? Thanks.
