I have a small suggestion.
I have been watching the fights this evening. And i really like this. But my suggestion is that eve news should be broadcast on EVE-TV. Like regular news TV. Make a newsupdate and let it loot or something. I think it would bring the game to a higher level.

They manage to get complaints from half the alliances in Eve just for mentioning their names (or not mentioning their names). This would just compound the situation.
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? THERE ARE NO BOB IN AZN! EVETV HATES ASCN

Excellent argument.
It's all decided.
When does the show start? This will be FUN. - EVE is sick. |

depends. How would you prefer it? Like a weekly show with a host or new style or just like a podcast feature with voice over? How would it represent the alliances in the news? So many things that could be done really.

Weekly (bi-weekly or monthly depending on what's realistic ^^) recap of what's going on in EVE. Guests to the show with either video conference or just voice (with ingame pic representing you ^^). 2-4 hours long. During the weekend.
Recap should cover not just alliances and 0.0 but also empire, storyline, dev appearances where we can bash them for not implementing feature xyz!111!11, interesting tidbits, etc.
I'd love to see a presentation of all the tinfoil hat theories out there, how they got started, what prompted their popularity, and so on and so forth.

Edited by: Templer Relleg on 09/12/2006 10:14:29 I think the coverage from SIRadio have been fantastic. I would love to see this in a better format.
I would like to hear about the alliance situation(Declared wars, like bob vs. ascn), interresting things said by developers, etc. I think it should either a podcast version(Every monday?), or even like SIRadio do it, live, using ventrilo. Gives a nice interaction with the crowd.
I Dont just want to hear that, now ASCN is fighting bob. I wanna hear what influence it will have. Will ASCN fall? And with the titan of LV now shown to the public.. What influence will it have? Will more alliances attack LV?
That kind of stuff!!

I would completely agree with adding the element of a voice conference and/or player interviews. Making the community closer and actually seeing the person behind the character which we tried to include more this time round in the pvp event

uummmm, yes. Alliance news and storyline news. More glory and honor for those of us who like that. More to complain about for those who like complaining. And a testament to eve history. A win-win situation for everyone :)
Also I have never seen one of those storyline events. I read about them in the ingame browser, but I have never felt connected to it. It's just not a part of my eve experience. Maybe evetv can change that :)

I agree on the need for a regular eve tv schedule... It need not only be on major events... You can show s and s and s and any sort of thing from every day eve... Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

Just a small note here, there is a regular eve themed show (gracefully called Singularity) on siradio.fm every Wednesday at 21:00 eve time, where we try to fill in the listeners with information, a lot of player views and well a humorous approach cause when you go live, it's bound to happen.
This is going to get more polished, detailed and streamlined in the future, however hunting the news on politics and sovereingty and wars on a weekly basis is very time consuming having to fit with the whole technical (and not so technical) process of running the station. So we're looking for "experts" from all eve areas to be joining us on the air with news and commentary from areas that our "hand" doesn't reach. If you're interested, I can be found most of the time in irc (coldfront and siradio irc servers) on #evetv and #siradio under the nickname aMUSiC.
And in the end, to chip in my thoughts, it's always much more fun to have the news presented to you, spiced up with music, humor, opinions from the people who actually make the news, rather than hunting forums, devblogs and local =) Split Infinity Radio Get Loud, Get Mental http://www.siradio.fm |

I tend to agree that chats with Devs and select players/alliance representatives for a Q&A much like Spiral did with Oveur the last day of the championship would be great.

Chats with devs and the like are okay, but there's no need to hear from them all the time, so really the good stuff is in what is happening in-game. Sorry devs, but with all due respect I don't play the game for you nor do I pay the subscription to see your mugs on tv.
News broadcasts and talk-shows with interviews of the relevant personalities would be asolutely amazing. I've been hoping for something like that ever since I first watched Eve TV. It would be such a ground-breaking thing in the MMO world. Of course, that would take some new investments and developments by CCP in a completely different direction with limited promises of direct return-on-investment, so the question is pretty much whether such expenditures are justifiable by the subscription incomes or if the activity's value for brand development big enough. There really isn't a clear cut answer, as the answer would depend on what's done with the tools, which relates to overall marketing policy. Nevertheless, the alliance tournaments have been laying the groundwork for something like this, but even if I'm definately rooting and hoping for something like that I'm somewhat skeptical.

I think its a good idea. I do however have one concern. How about if EVEtv gets a story wrong (or gets lied too) and then broadcast it? It may have serious consequences for a player or a group of players. Like the time the newsreport you get on log-in mistakenly pointed one of my corpmates as having started the war on BoB and refused to take it back stating "we searched him for a comment but he was unavailable". They didnt know that his comp was down for 1 full week. That dude is still getting flamed on the forums for that almost 1 year later. This could happen to anyone and have potantially even larger impact if broadcasted on EVEtv.

Just like the real world. With eve tv having a greater influence it will also be possible to "correct" biased information since there is a bigger chance of people being aware of false information regarding themselves.

Well with reporting ingame news.. EVETV would take on reporters, from all mixed backgrounds and playing experience (interests). -----------
