This is of some interest in some of the groups. What happens if two teams in a group have the same number of points after the last matches have ended?
The rules state the following:
Quote: If two teams are equal in points, the following ranking system will be used:
1. Kill/loss difference 2. Result of match between the two involved alliances. 3. The greatest number of kills.
But to be honest, this is a bit confusing. Assume for a second that you have Team A, B, and C. Team C has won all of their matches, and automatically advance. Team A and team B have won and lost 2 matches.
What happens if team A has a better kill/loss difference, but Team B beat Team A? And what if they have the same number of kills? Does anyone know how the team who advances will be ultimately determined?

Team A would go through, if they have better kill/loss ration that's all that matters. Only if the kill/loss ratio is the same with the inter team match decide and if that was a draw the most number of kills. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

I would like this clarified, as it will be a serious factor after tomorrow's matches in our group.

The rules are very clear. Look at the numbers. They are ranks. Lower number means higher priority/rank.
FIRST you look at kill/loss ratio. IF that does NOT yield a result THEN look at results between these two. IF NOT result, THEN look at highest number of kills. - EVE is sick. |

should be like this
example 1 team - points - kill/loss difference A - 9 - 3 C - 6 - 11 B - 6 - 10
a will pass even if kill loss is lower because it have more points...
then C will pass because it have a better kill/loss ratio (11 vs 10 of B)
example 2 team - points - kill/loss difference A - 9 - 24 B - 6 - 8 C - 6 - 8
A will pass, B and C have same kill/loss but B won the match against team C so B will pass
example 3 team - points - kill/loss difference A - 9 - 24 B - 4 - 8 (25 kills) C - 4 - 8 (23 kills)
A will pass, B and C have same ponts and kill loss ratio, thei made a draw in their match but B have more kill than C so it will pass
example 4 team - points - kill/loss difference B - 6 - 11 (25 kills) C - 6 - 11 (23 kills) A - 6 - 11 (21 kills)
all the teams have same points and kill/loss ratio A won against B but lost against C and B won against C B will pass for better kill ratio, then C then A
example 5 team - points - kill/loss difference B - 6 - 11 (20 kills) C - 6 - 11 (20 kills) A - 6 - 11 (20 kills)
as above but everyone have 20 kills... so total draw.... Dino will chose the winners who will be his fav team/s (the more dinosaur like)

Thanks for the replies. It just seemd ambiguous to me, since ranking can mean a lot of things, and it could have meant a combination of any of those numbers.
That's really funny for our group though, considering ASCN and Star Fraction are sitting at 6 points each. Very interesting....

Edited by: CamMan on 09/12/2006 04:33:36 As it is written i believe it is a kill/loss differential, and not a ratio as some people have mentioned.
example Team A: 10 kills 2 losses Team B: 16 kills 4 losses
Differential: Team B (16-4 = 12) > Team A (10-2 = 8)
Ratio: Team A (10/2 = 5) > Team B (16/4 = 4)
So based on the differential Team B would go through.
