Hi,
Just a quick question regarding remote labs. Is it possible to allow a corp member to use a pos mobile lab for research from their personal hanger? I've tried this a few times on a char with scientific networking skill but the job always hangs at "calculating quote".
The only way i can get it to work is to grant the role "factory manager" and "Rent Research Slot" as well as granting full access to a corp hanger division at station and the pos, then running the research job for the corp. Surely there must be a better, more secure way of allowing corp members to access corp labs.
If anyone can shed some light on settings required to allow personal research i'd much appreciate it.

What I do:
Corp-mate/buddy/whatever gives me the bpo, I research it in mobile lab with my user, when it's done, give the bpo back to owner.
Reason:
POS lab only allows one concurrent user.

it's a lie, I had at least 2 people using mine
pre PKKP move from TCC alliance(about 4mths ago), we had a mobile lab(mine) that was for alliance use via scientific networking
I know at least 2 people were using it at one point, cause I was 1 of them

it looks like it was an intended idea, but never completed(much like rent labs via standings, unless that got fixed in Rev)
Mobile labs are only marginally useful because of the issues

you can't do research from Personal hangers, only the Corp hanger... so you need to rent an office if you don't have one in the system already.
As for the single concurrent user bit... you can have as many users, the limit is they can't install jobs all at the same. |

I can right now have non directors do research...
they are a factory manager, able to rent research slots, and have query access only to the hanger
it works... works right now... i can, when I log in, see charicters with those limitations researching in mobile labs
they have to right click on the BPO in the corp hanger while docked at the station holding it (can't do it truely remotly)... but it is doable.

Hi,
In RDEX we had the same problem but if you give the roles:
Can configure Starbase equipment
Factory manager
Lab slot (sorry not in game cant remember exact role)
Query Hangers
then as many as you want can use the Lab, we've had 4 at one time in ours.
the Time bonus is a REAL help especially with Big BS's

All our corpmembers that have the following roles can install jobs at our POS.
a) Query access to hangar with BPO
b) Station Manager role
c) Rent research slot role
The following is a must:
1) Allow corpmembers to use the labs (configurable at the POS)
2) BPOs must be in same system
3) Researcher must be within range of his scientific networking skill limitation (with Sci net 3) He can do this 10 jumps away if in the same region.
Note that researchers only have to have use access to the labs, and not the config starbase role.
I think your problem may stem from not having configured the labs in the Manage starbase window.
