I've tried launching the exefile.exe directly and I'm getting a "cannot connect to 87.237.38.200 on port 26000" error
I have thus tried a trace route and get the following message.

Now, this could be down to that host not responding to ICMP or it could be offline whilst they fix it or it's a routing issue??

How i fixed it for me:
1. Delete Launcher folder 2. Run Repair (don't run game yet) 3. Download EVE_Online_958007-958315_win.patch from here:

4. Put downloaded file into game folder 5. Run Launcher

So, investigated a bit more. No, I'm not going to download something from googledrive and install it....
Traceroute to cdn1.eveonline.com fails prematurely it seems. Domain lookup on cdn1.eveonline.com from a web source fails with 'no dns answer' but works for other sites.
I am beginning to smell a DNS/routing issue here that's cropped up again following on from the prior CDN issues.

I keep 98% of fleet on my "Good Standings" list. I'm with them atm and if doesn't show them online.

I posted in hope of giving CCP a bit more info whilst also making it clear to them I expect a fix from them and not to have to take risks downloading stuff of unknown provenance to fix it.

Was stuck at 0.0% on the launcher, tried about ten times. Then connected via VPN (with exit server in same country) and it launched first time. Then disconnected the VPN and the game loaded right away as usual. |

Actually agree 100% its a risk but no idea what CCP are up to! A ok guys we see few of you have problems patching we will start investigating and get a fix asap but nada. So the community has to rely on help from unofficial sources. I can guarantee the same **** will happen next patch that comes out until they fix their launcher. |

I'm just over a month in to the game. From my experience, this isn't usual... but reading other posts here, it sounds like it might be that I've just been lucky up till now. I don't know.
It *is* a beautiful game. And incredibly wide-ranging in what you can do within the framework of it. But this does suck, and I hope CCP gets it fixed soon. The irony of this happening so soon after I subscribed for several months is not lost on me. |

Well it's a little better than it was...0ver 10 years ago...just get used to the fact that part of the EVE experience is having to put up with the relaxed approach CCP has to maintaining its service.
I for one keep a good book and several beers to hand for these regular issues that usually someone from the player base find a work around for.

Similar addresses to elsewhere, however when I use a web tool to look up cdn1.eveonline.com I get as stated earllier, it appears to not succeed in looking it up, but does succeed with other domains (I picked a lookup service at random, so no idea what it's using for DNS).
I still am stuck at 0%. I've also tried getting in to eve via my tablet which was working fine a couple of days ago (albeit slowly as it's woefully underpowered for eve) and same problem there.
Traceroute which earlier had lots of timeouts in the route is now completing to a completely different destination at cloudfront without any timeouts.

I'm happy that you've managed to get past it. There haven't been service issues that they have reported, since the issue with BT earlier this week.
If anyone else is continuing to have issues with 0% patching, a tracert / nslookup might help me if you're able to provide it. |

In case it's relevant to others, I'm not a BT internet user (but that's not to say my traffic might not route via BT on it's way to cloudfront), my ISP is Zen Internet in the UK. |

I have now simply reinstalled the game (twice) and it is now working.

If this still fails then try the trick with a VPN connection.

It's very likely that you have a file that's corrupt, and that if you've otherwise successfully patched to the latest version, then running rescache.exe should fix it. We put out a fix to rescache today (I believe) that fixed an issue which may have prevented it from repairing corrupted files. You do not need to download everything when asked.

Okay will try when i get home, for the record i ran rescache and it downloaded everything fine.
But when the launcher runs the exefile.exe it then seems to never display the toon selection screen.
I must be way too into this game to be debugging installs i would normally just move on and play something else |

Just tried this again and still no connection, launcher says "Launching..." thinks for 15-20 seconds then reverts back to "Play" status with no character selection screen. |
