Hi everyone,
This is long, and please be sure to read the continuation in the second posting. It is well worth the read as I know what I am looking for in a corp and what I am not. You should know what you want and donGÇÖt want in members too. Please do not waste my time or yours by just spamming your ad in the hopes of getting someone to join if its clear we are very different and not likely a fit.
This of course is an alt, as I don't want my main getting spammed, especially if I am in a critical situation. I will naturally provide full api to those that I apply to for all my accounts. Once I get a better feel for the corp, during discussions, and it looks promising, I will have no problem revealing my mains either. Getting to know members beforehand is important to try to help determine if we are a fit for each other.
I'm a Multifaceted, multi account player 40+ year old that has been playing since 06 with a couple breaks in between. I donGÇÖt consider myself a bittervet per se, but I have seen both good and bad things through the years. I know what I like and what I donGÇÖt. I consider myself an experienced player in some aspects, that is a bit of a noob in others. I like to know my strengths and weaknesses.
I tend to be more of a supporting player. One that does things behind the scenes using my various characters to help with projects that others can't. Whether that is a deep deployment with a hot dropper, running my JF and freighter toons, scanning, or other projects that I can devote a character to. My fun comes from helping others, and filling gaps or needs that others can't. IGÇÖm the guy that enjoys scanning and doing logistics.
Let me be clear, I am NOT a PvP focused player at this time. I have some experience in PvP and following FC's directions. While I can fly caps, I do not currently have any for combat, or have I used them in combat before. So far I haven't had the need, or a group experienced enough not to get them whelped for no reason. I prefer BC size and below. I am working to learn to enjoy pvp more and alot of that depends on the group I fly with and their attitudes. They can make it more fun and enjoyable However itGÇÖs not something I go looking for, nor do I enjoy roams on a day in day out basis. It often times is frustrating and is not fun for me. However the right group could help me enjoy it more, just know where I stand beforehand.
I used to mine alot, but not much anymore. I do have characters with mining skills, but itGÇÖs no longer a focus. I can mine when needed though. I have a booster but it does not have Indust command ship or Cap indust ship 5 as I sold those characters as I gravitated away from mining with changes to the game that came over the years.
What I am looking for:
A group that realizes this is a GAME that is meant to be FUN. That RL always takes priority and some of us do have lives outside the game. That joining a corp is as much for the fun and camaraderie out of game as it is in game. One that understands having a life and work schedule outside of eve can make for some unusual playing times.
I want a group that are adults (unless it happens to be a members child and they themselves are very mature) mature, respectful and respectable. A group that understands being mature and respectful does not include being crude or harsh. I believe in an NBSI policy in WH, Null, Low. I want a group that isn't into griefing or harassing random neutral players. Yes engaging people in WHGÇÖs, low/null is fair game, empire griefing is NOT. Random ganking and griefing is not ok IMO. If you find that fun, then so be it, I do not do it, like it NOR will I be associated with a group that condones it. War decs are also ok as everyone knows what to expect vs just some random ganking.
If in an alliance, I would prefer the alliance and its members be of the same mindset, and keep things respectful. One that doesn't bash others because they don't play the game the way they feel you should, or if you donGÇÖt have the stats in areas they feel you should. How often are logi pilots on KMGÇÖs yet so often they are the most important part of a fight? They should be able to voice their thoughts and opinions in a respectful manner. We all play the game we pay for differently and find different things fun and enjoyable.
I want a group that is active in comms, whether they are in game or not. I would prefer a group that enjoys many aspects in eve, that has players run incursions or missions (not necessarily together unless helping someone get standings) (even if its with alts) or other efficient income sources, to pay for other aspects of the game.
I want a group that can be considered a group of friends and you look forward to seeing each other. I would prefer an established corp, with at least 30, preferably 50 members, not just 10 people with 5 alts. Exceptions can be made but it has got to be a complete amazing fit. I prefer a corp more than 6 months old, but realistically older unless many having been flying together for a while and just changing things up. You might have hopes and dreams of grandeur with your new corp, but I know the difficulties of it and seen too many fail. I prefer a corp with experienced players, with a limited number of newbie players. Along those lines I prefer a reasonable minimum skillpoint requirement, unless its a rare exception for someones friend or family. Taking month old toons into corp IMO is reckless and not good, especially in a WH situation.

part two:
What I can offer:
I am self sufficient and believe in taking the initiative and getting things done. I donGÇÖt rely on others for content or fun. I desire to contribute and help, vs be a burden. This is one reason I tend to take care of my own logistics.
I run multiple accounts with some very solid toons. My main characters range from 91, 92 mill sp to 74, 77 mill sp. My lowest skilled character that I run is 44.5 mill sp. I would prefer not to have my mission runners and incursion pilot join due to war decs so that money can always be coming in. My primary cap pilot can run first archon in C5 escalations or a dread. I can also run second archon. I have a maxed booster character.
I'm active and always on comms when online, even if I am not playing eve. I believe in participating with others, and helping be a part of the community, not always doing my own thing. I believe in contributing and being self sufficient, vs a burden.
I'm looking at options, and exploring possibilities as I look for a place to fit in and call home. Its about having fun, enjoying the game, helping others enjoy the game, and enjoying those you fly with. Attitude, respect, fun and classyness go a long way in my book.
If you think your corp could be a good fit, please say hello. I will often have this character up when I am online. However understand I may be tied up but I will be sure to reply and say hello the first chance I get.
Thank you kSetuni

To answer some common questions so far:
1. I am not a hardcore PvPer. However I am not against it. I simply like doing a variety of things and not PvP'ing every day unless its defending assets. I've had some fun PvP, but alot of very frustrating times. Alot boils down to the group you fly with.
2. I am not looking only for isk. A source of income to pay for ships or gear, especially if they are specifically to help others is needed and nice but its never a focus. This is why i run missions and other things to help give an income.
3. My main focus is having fun and helping others have fun. This can be done in and out of game. Its also helping in a variety of ways that may free up people to do what they enjoy more.
Hope this helps answer and clear things up.

Daily bump. Ive talked to a couple that sound interesting. I've also talked to many that clearly didn't read what I posted. and were not a fit so it wasted time for both of us.
Hats off to one that read what I wrote, but could tell that we didn't line up. He was cool and respectful. He also took the time to mail me and also suggest a group that did. A big thank you for that and it shows alot of class. |

Well it certainly appears pretty clear what you want. Its nice to see someone putting in thought and effort in their search.
Always nice when you run across helpful people in eve and to give a shout out to them.
Good luck in your search.

There are few corps in eve that come close to what you seek, but there's facets within all the tosh you dribbled out that are going to turn you off joining them and them off even wanted to broch the topic of recruiting you... I really doubt you'll ever find what youre asking for as described above. and those that come close are going to read above and wish they had never started. Give me back my 5 minutes.

kSetuni73,
As to whether you will find a corp that matches your interest, I defer to Jaded One (though his/her attitude about this seems somehowGǪ.I can't find the correct wordGǪit's on the tip of my tongue. When I think of it I'll update this post).
As I was saying, Jaded One's Eve knowledge and skill points and mine are not equal, nor are our writing skills evenly matched. Better to trust his assessment than mine. However, I appreciate the effort you put into self-expression. I hope you find a good fit. Though this is "only" a game, the similarities to finding a real life employer are striking -- find sufficient overlap between interests and abilities and know that there is no perfect match.
Better to spend 5 minutes reading a personal ad than spending weeks or months in the wrong corporation.
Good luck in your search.
Ken
p.s. I admit I am still puzzled by this one. I feel certain something else was meant, but perhaps not.
A broch is an Iron Age drystone hollow-walled structure of a type found only in Scotland. Brochs include some of the most sophisticated examples of drystone architecture ever created, and belong to the classification "complex Atlantic Roundhouse" devised by Scottish archaeologists in the 1980s. Their origin is a matter of some controversy.

I was a little tipsy when i read the OP and replied... I didnt want to sound harsh it if came across so.
kSetuni73, sounds to me like you need to start your own corp with the list of requirements and dislikes that you have. That maybe the only way to find all that youre seeking here.
..and Ken - Broch should of course have been spelt Broach.

Thank you for all the responses and to those who have taken the time to truly see if their corp fits.
Even Jaded's jaded response thankfully was not the norm as most have been appreciative to see someone who knows what they want. There are numerous corps that fit very nicely contrary to his thoughts.
As of now this thread is closed as I am now in the process of finalizing my decision between a couple places that have been pretty impressive. |
