Sorry for the noobish question, but how is someone supposed to acquire Data Interfaces to use invention. Datacores are awfully rare but I managed to acquire a few at considerable cost, but Data interfaces seem to be just inexistent. How are people supposed to use this feature?

Unfortunately, everything I've read so far indicates that the data interfaces are dropping in 0.0 complexes. I have yet to hear even rumors of them dropping in any empire system.
If this is the case, the only way to aquire them is to either run the complexes yourself (well, youself, and 3-4 friends), or purchase them from someone that has.
And I have yet to see them on the market at any price. (I would expect them to be stupidly-prohibitively expensive for the next 3 months or so if they truly are 0.0 only drops)
And yes, I need several myself. I created this char at launch as a researcher, only to find that there was no such thing as R&D in the beginning. and I've just come back to find that it's still the same. Oh, invention is there, but if we can't get the materials required....

Thank you for the answer, mate. I agree that they are making invention too hard to use. I don't understand why this overprotection of the T2 market. Thanks to this T2 mods prices are sky high and the old players status quo is unshakable.

Don't take my word for it, but I think data interfaces are optional. You can invent without them, but it's a lower chance of success. I think that's what a dev said once anyway. --------------------------------------------------------------------

Data Interfaces - supposedly in exploration sites.
I have yet to see any real confirmation of ANYONE having one on TQ.
Datacores are not rare by any means. Cash in your research agent RPs to get em'.
Decryptors drop in "classic" COSMOS hacking complexes, such as the Serpentis Survey Site area within the Gallente Skeleton Comet plex in Deltole. ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Calista Industries |
