I'm an L4 mission runners with 72K LP on one agent. This agent has been offering me all sorts of implants and other goodies which I've been turning down. Currently, I've got an offer for 8 ocular beta implants worth about 50M on the market. What's the strategy for LP: should I just take the implants and make ISK...or should I save the LP to get some wonderful deal way down the road? I could use the ISK, as I'm saving up for some faction mods, but don't want to do something that might prove unwise in the long run. Thanks for any info.

this all depends on your patience. In the end you can end up getting offers for faction battle ships and some kickassed faction mods ... however that takes a load of sp naturaly there are good offers and bad ones but mainly I`d sugest checking turnout tables to see how long your willing to wait and check that against how much you need the money atm >---- A Haiku with <3 Logged into Jita. Coverting them into ISK is the best use for loyalty points. How you do this doesn't matter, aslong as you get the maximum ISK yield per loyalty point spend
Simply make a list of offers, look up market value of offered items and get a calculator out

Depends if your a collector or not, push it to about 100k you'll be getting nice faction ships offered to you assuming your agent is with a corp that will provide them as offers, check out the agent offers list to get an idea of what you might get. Implants are a way to make more certain isk but faction ships if your willing to sell them or the bpc's you get can fetch in excess of a couple of bil if marketed right.

Wow, level 4 missions sound like they have some good payouts. But what sort of ship does it take to fly level 4's? Sounds like it'd have to be an expertly configured battleship at least and a gang for anyone not in a top-flight ship.

Edited by: Soporo on 17/12/2006 00:17:38 I'm no expert on lvl 4's, but I'll tell you this: The day you finally get able to fly one (a BS), its a bad idea to mission in 4's with only basic skills.
I learned that to my dismay as a 3 or 4? week guy. Had a lot of time in Indy and Mining stuff, not enough in Engineering etc. |

You can check out EVE Info to see what value your LP have and what offers you might expect.

According to some guy who posted here the other day in a Mission Runner whine thread, you need a 2 Billion isk ship to do lvl4 missions properly.

"properly"? What is he talking about? My tank holds on all of the missions and I am able to do them in a reasonable amount of time. I have a normal raven with decent named launchers (the 1mil torp launchers), a T2 shield booster, but the rest T1. I have a couple million SPs in each of the relevant areas.
You can even do L4s with battlecruiser V, since the resists are very nice.

No he actually posted that he needs a ship like that to tank lvl 4's solo. I forgot which thread it was in but it was fairly recent so it is probably only a couple of pages back somewhere if someone wants to look it up for laughs.
Personally, I don't believe it but I have never tried lvl 4's so i can't speak too much on it except to say it seems a little excessive. 2 Billion?...c'mon.

"i love how those that have no clue about misson running complain bout no risk.
every time i do a lvl 4 misson I take a chance, you never know whats gonna happen, go ld.. loose the ship, dones dont do what you say and get blown up, aggro the whole stage... might loose the ship to npc's that warp scramble you, web you, jam you and NOS you.
If i loose my ship i loose 1-2 billion."
Originally by: Xavier RainesEdited by: Xavier Raines on 14/12/2006 05:12:54 I am also curious to how someone loses 1-2 billion when they lose their ship in missions like the guy a few posts up claimed?
Do you really need a 2 billion isk ship/mods to do a mission?
To successfully tank some of the level 4 missions with one ship, yes.

I probably lose 2 billion if I lost my lvl IV solo ship. Navy Mega with all T2/Faction fittings.
Do I need that much power for the missions? No, of course not. Do I prefer to get missions done more quickly because I use the best equipment I can find? Yes, I sure do.
Up until I got the Navy Mega I was soloing the IV's in my Ishtar, which was a ton of fun.
I don't know about doing them in a BC though. I suppose you could, but it would probably take way too much time to be worth it. Better to just roll through lvl III's.

My ship
Raven: about 110 mill but if I lose it I get insurance pay out. Have to reinsure it which costs 32 mill. So losing the ship costs 32 mill.
T2 Cruise launchers x6 about 60 mill.
T2 booster Boost amp and 4x hardeners are about 50 to 80 mill more? (prices are stupid lately)
2 or 3 T2 BCU and 2 or 3 T2 PDS are another 20 to 30?
Just ballparking because I can not recall exactly what I paid for each item back when I bought it. So I do level 4s quite adequately in a 200 to 300 mill ship.
If you bookmark your death can and go cancel the mission you can come back and get some of your stuff. I lose maybe 150 to 200 mill when I lose my ship.
You could buy a faction BS and fit it with gisti boosters and hardeners etc and spend a couple billion but you do not NEED that. Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure. |
