ExeFile.exe is soaking up 84-98% of my CPU. It began suddenly after I had been playing for half an hour. I played on for a bit, rebooted and the issue went away. Now after another half hour of gameplay, the problem is back.
Another UK player in my corp reports the same issue, massive memory leak every half hour. We did not have this problem before today, and we did not change any settings. Our machines are high-end. What's going on?

Edited by: Gruel on 18/12/2006 20:52:44 I get the same thing. I have to relog after about half an hour. It's only happened today. On Task Manager CPU use is 80%+ and memory use just grows and grows.

Same thing going on here. I have not changed any settings and everything was fine until today. Everything starts normally, but then as the minutes progress the fps drops further and further until after about 15-20 minutes it has become so bad I have to give up and quit the client. Start the client back up and everything is fine, but then the same thing happens all over again. Unplayable and not acceptable.

I hope the new client coming out will fix all of this.
New problems just keep popping up. The architecture for the engine is really unstable it seems.

Is it possible that everyone of you uses AntiVir as virus scanner? Because the only thing that changed for me from yesterday to today is an update to AntiVir.

Just started happening to me tonight and i never have any problems with my client. Mem usuage is fine, but the cpu usage heads clear into the 90's until i restart.

Im not sure if i have the same problem as you guys, but my problem is with the FPS suddenly taking a nosedive as opposed to network lag.
Builds up as i make jumps until its unplayable, a client restart fixes it back to my usual ~70fps but sometimes, even after 1 jump, it can drop to 10fps or and get lower and lower.

I have been getting this problem for a while, it seems anything longer than 1h30m-2h of the game open causes minor hangs as I play. If i exit even and restart i wont get them for about another 1h or so. But it seems if i stay online any longer than 2 hours the minor hangs get very frequent. It seems that it doesn't get much worse than the 2 hour lag mark, but though after 5-6 hours the game will get really laggy and pretty much any window opened, or any other thing done will hang the game for a good 5 seconds.

Edited by: Vyger on 18/12/2006 22:09:04 Exact same thing is happening to me too, only started today. No updates of any kind have occured on the client PC today, av,os or other.
EVE frame rate starts off ok, around 50fps outside station. FPS gradually decreases over the next 10-20 mins down to 10-12 FPS. Rebooting EVE cures it temporarily but it just happens again.
Oh, and clearing the cache doesnt fix it either.

Edited by: Free 2 on 18/12/2006 22:37:25 Edited by: Free 2 on 18/12/2006 22:32:40 Ditto here, starting of with a nice 50-60 fps in space and each time i do a warp it gets down 5-10fps, then after 5 warps i'm down to a whole 5 in station! Relogging helps, for 5 jumps..:(. If i stay put everything stays fine, but if i dare to even warp to a gate it gets a 5 fps smack. Warping to another gate -5 again. Seems like eve isn't clearing its chache all of a sudden . Together with the frame drops each time cpu use seems to increase untill it tops (allthough difficult to tell cos of dual core)
btw, all started today, yesterday 3 hours straight, 0 problem!
edit just noticed extended downtime due to server issues, clould it be....?

aye same here. cant understand why.... was fine yesterday (and sunday is usually known for being laggy death warmed up) but now my fps is dropping to near unplayable levels and I feel like im flying through treacle.
100% CPU usage too.. though i think thats always the case with this game.

Ok, it's definitely related to jumping/warping. AP across 7 systems got me from 50 fps to 5 fps in 5 minutes.
If I reboot and log in and stay put (ran a 30 mins mission) then no reduction in fps. Warped two systems back to agent base and fps was way down.
I hope this helps our friends at CCP

100% CPU usage has nothing to do with it. EVE is a CPU dependant game, and will use as much CPU power as it can. If you're having problems after a certain time, it might be to do with your page file. I suggest making it bigger, or clearing/defragging your page file to see if you get any improvements. ---

After hitting up Amarr space, and some Gallente as well today, I'd put some isk down to say that the root of most of these lag problems are that there are WAY TOO MANY CALDARI players! ;P
Caldari space is crowded - everywhere. Hit up any of the other races' space and it's barren - you see maybe 20 people in a crowded system. Then again, their markets are just as barren :(

This does not sound like the problem most of us are describing. Your timescale and symptoms are different. Most people here are describing the following problem: FPS steadily decreases with no major hangs over a period of 15-30 minutes at which point the game has become unplayable and the client must be restarted.

This is good advice, but completely unrelated to the thing most of us are reporting. We are not complaining about network lag, in which respect the topic is misleading. We are talking about a sudden and unexpected degredation in client performance that only started occuring today.

Same here. The FPS will decrease to 5 fps, and the cpu usage will climb to over 95%+. It is definitely related to jumping; I was running two clients, and the one that I was using to travel dropped to 5 fps over a period of time while the client that was sitting in station sat at a comfortable fps.

Started today, around 30 minutes into the session, even in empty systems. Logging helps for another 20-30 minutes or so. Lovely.

I'm experiencing this issue too, getting under 5fps after 20 minutes of playing, with a X2 4400+ and 7900GT.
This has never happened to me before today..

Add me to the list. Played both accounts on separate pcs, and the problem started on both in the past half hour. Rebooting fixed it for 5 minutes, then back to lousy FPS. I half wonder if CCP is playing with the game behind the scenes, which they've done in the past before a "fixxer" patch.
I played for seven hours, btw, on both pcs, before the problem started.
