Hi..
I wonder if there will be anything of the following:
1) a vessel inbetween the industrials and freighters with roughly 150.000m¦ cargo? Supposed workfield: -medium sized trade (capable of transporting 2-3 BS) -POS supply -Hauling Ore/Ice from belt to station (capable of opening cans) -?!..
2) vessel(s) for refining in belts or modules to fit a ship with (the barges or industrials)?
3) vessel for mining bigger amounts of common ore with capital size (so belts in high sec don't get sucked away by those monsters)?
The first point would be my first choice, as I would need it the most.. ;)
Cheers Fren
PS: If anyone does have a link to a post of a DEV regarding the issues above, I would like to read a link to those places.. thanks! :) .

CCP does not concern themselves with such nonsense, they are hard at work designing the next eleventybillion combat ships that will be released...

DaReaper: Any idea on if there will ever be a capitol minining ship introduced? Or when the systems wide belts that was promised in exodus will be making an apperence? *omghax0r WINS the race! Oveur: Capital Mining Ships, yes, we want a m*********** industrial ship like in aliens Oveur: what it'll do exactly, we'll shed light on at a later date, but probably "industrial" would be more correct than "mining", but still not like a industrial as in hauler LeMonde: We have considered adding a neverending Veldspar roid in Amarr for Chribba's dreadnought. Oveur: Yeah, that too Oveur: just so people can see it, you know, as a landmark tuxford: heretics Oveur: "so this is what blasphemy on epic scales looks like, huh?" -----------------------------
That was the last thing i heard about capital industrials from ANY dev. Linkage

I hereby demand more options to the Industrial side of Eve. Industrial here meaning building/science/trading and other non "lol my gun wtfpwns u for XYZ damage noob!" activities.

its not _that_ long ago since industrialists got the tech 2 barges and fancy new mining lasers
we just litterally got more industrialist stuff with gas cloud harvesting, and the hidden exploration belts. salvaging is pretty close to what an industrialist would do too.
1 and 2 are good ideas, but it sounds like 2 is sort of happening anyway, at least by that dev chat quote.

I read somewhere that the next class of industrial ship to be released will be the salvagers, so you'll probably have to wait a while for more haulers.

This has been commented on by the devs more than once, and it's not going to happen.
You're supposed to use freighters to move large scale supplies, to an outpost for example. Then use industrial ships to move these supplies around.
The refining vessel has been discussed too. The only thing is that it'd have to be much less efficient than a POS (75% yield and costs fuel) or it makes POS refining structures redundant. Then all the people who want it start complaining that there's no point in the refining vessel either.

Sir, new mining lasers came out with Exodus, i assume you mean ice harvesting and deep core mining. Also Exhumers were released alongside Red Moon Rising, an expansion pack released for christmas last year. The entire playerbase has been deprived of new ships for almost a year, and lets face it for combat I do not see any more niches for new ships. On the industrial side there is demand for new ships and modules, whereas I here virtualy none on the side of fighters who want redesighnes/tweeks on what is already deployed.
/Sighned for my veldspar gringing behemoth of 0.0 to make it competitive with crokite or at least worth it.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge..
uhm..
Means I really have to go for that freighter thing.. :(
Cheers
PS: If this game would have something to do with a real market, we allready would have such a industrial/freighter-mix ship - as demand is there.. well.. .

There have been several threads for smaller freighters and jump-drive powered freighter-like ships several times. I'm sure they'll do something eventually. Jump Drive freighter would pwn. If only they could make a larger then industrial ship that would be able to pickup from a POS. That be sweet :)

We already have jump drive enabled industrial ships.
They're called Carriers
A jump-drive freighter would just remove all element of risk from the game and I really doubt the devs would ever entertain such an idea seriously.

Actually, Mining and hauling have been the most overlooked aspects of Eve for a long time.
I remember looking forward to getting some of the Named Strip Miners and named mining upgrade modules we were supposed to get with RMR.
Now it's Revelations. And the revelation is, industrial/mining is forgotten.

Unless I am mistaken, the laser where at January with all the other T2 stuff, and now the gas cloud "reserved" for the big alliances in 0.0; salvaging (more gear for combat ships, litle work as an industrialist), invention (currently on the "go and get 2 billion of ship blow up for a small chance of a data interface"), nothing for the small to medium miner producer.
In the same time combat has got: tier 2 BC, tier 3 BS, Rigs, Booster (if and when someone will build them), and some new ECM module.
In theory it should be the reverse: look in RL the number of models/class of Tanks againt the number/models of industrial veicles.
I concur that combat is more exciting, but a little more thought for the production/mining will be liked.
